Took money out whilst earning peanuts pay at jd sports. If I lost my job. The insurance would keep the payments going till I found another job or went bankrupt.

Anyone know what happened to dsg4me. Just wondered what my Alf would look like with its mx5 convertible roof on. Don't worry wont be changing it but those who ever wondered. May give you an answer.

The answer to Zagmad´s question is
DSG4ME is still around. :icon_cool: Zag, just in case you wondered what your Alf Special would look like with the MX5 convertible top, well here you have it. My personal opinion would be to leave it as a coupé but thats all down to personal taste. https://i.imgsafe.org/6ab48b00b9.jpg |
Don't worry not changing the roof just wondered what it would look like. For those who like a soft top. Prob look nice from a angled front view. The Alf has nice reverse curve lines that give it those sharp lines along the top of the wings .

While we're looking at alternative rooflines' what would it look like with as a shooting brake.ive always like the roof off the Lamborghini shooting star.

Oops Lamborghini flying star. From the b pillar back

Brian at DNA is working on a replica Daytona 365 on a Z4 but due to his work load with the 2fifty it won't be until the early part of next year (at the earliest), I'm on the list!
The 250 is (fingers crossed) almost finished and I have really enjoyed the build so need something to keep me occupied for the next year. There was a post on here somewhere or it could have been the DNAOC site, someone was asking if the BMW E46 had bolt on rear end, (it doesn't) but it got me thinking again. How about a 4 seater Daytona "Tribute"? http://i803.photobucket.com/albums/y.../z3gto/e46.jpg http://i803.photobucket.com/albums/y...tona%20365.png I'm not thinking replica, more "in the style of". A 4 seater would be very practical and would possibly easier to get approval from the war office if you have kids. The E46 is getting quite cheap now and there are millions available, anything from a poverty 1.8 up to the M3, something for everyone. Wheelbase is bound to be out but to my eye the proportions look as if they will work and the windscreen rake looks ok too. Main difference to my eye is the distance from the back of the door to the rear wheel arch, but as it's a 4 seater I think it could still work. |

Main difference to me is they are pointing in different directions :-) |
The one pointing in the wrong direction is for our Irish readers!

Like alot of design if you get the scale right it will look great. Id avoid making it looking like the rover v8 that was on top gear. The one when the door came off on the cobbles. Ds something. Sloping it out from the bottom of the convertible roof . Maybe dsg4me could give it a crack. If the blueprint was scaled up to allow for then bmws tyre diameter

That e46 Daytona idea, is rather inspired I think!
I think you would only be allowed the fixed lights as pop ups are banned |
365 gtb/4 had lenses that were the shape of the front. So can have 4 lights at the front instead of pop up. Keeping it period.
|
Back to hunting for a cheap tatty unfinished/unstarted Daytona kit.
If anyone has any leads on one please let me know. |

Old cars that already have them are fine. They have been deemed as pedestrian unfriendly for new production cars
|
Should be ok on an older BMW that wouldn't have to go through an IVA.
|
Pop up headlights were last used in 2004 when c5 corvette and lotus esprit went out of production :(
