I was thinking what would a Alfa Romeo 1750 gtv look like with a Ferrari 330 California roof line look like. It has the shorter side window . Dsg4me could you see it working.

This turned up at a local meet last Saturday.

Alfa T33 replica but can you guess what single donor is underneath (without Goggling!)

The dashboard is a huge clue and it's been suggested as a donor before on this forum....

wolfie 27th January 2016 09:35

I give in - what was the donor and who made the kit ?

smash 27th January 2016 09:54

You gave in in 4 minutes lol!

More clues - it's purely a body swap and the car underneath was made from 2000 to 2005...

oxford1360 27th January 2016 10:08

Is it a VX220? The binnacle pod looks familiar.

smash 27th January 2016 10:17

Good spot! Yes indeed a very well camouflaged VX220.

No details of the kit online but appears to be the work of RS Performance in Stow Marie's...

zagmad 27th January 2016 10:22

Just one more roof swap. Same again but with a swb roofline. Please.

How about with the side windows of the 1750 in the lines of the above pic. And not the swb's. Eg outline of roof ,windows of the Alfa.

zagmad 10th February 2016 15:03

I wonder how a triumph tr6 roof wood look like on the Alfa GT . The one that looks like the lancia fulvia roof.

I've got an idea. How about an Alfa GT Junior wth an Alfa GT Junior roof

You're going to be hard pushed to find a better looking car

zagmad 10th February 2016 20:31

Love too but cant find a company happy to chop the roof off a rusty one. The roof will need to be shortened to allow for the donor

Do you plan to use a Z3 or MX5 as donor. On the Z3 the wheelbase is very close but the windscreen angle may be too shallow to look right with a shortened Alfa roof:

Just an idea why don't you keep the donors roof
Junior convertible or use the donors hard top- not so dear and will make life easier

zagmad 10th February 2016 21:26

I've got an mx5.

zagmad 10th February 2016 22:04

It'll get their in the end. With the mx5's windscreen at suck an angle I thought maybe the triumph tr6 roof would balance it out and also combine two looks hence the Italian lancia fulvia. Roof is available in fibreglass and will allow for good vision out the back and full use of the boot. In keeping with a 2
seater Italian themed concept. Or swb roof going into Alfa boot line. Still waiting on last of the panels to see how they sit and work with existing roof. Not many retro Alfa concepts to inspire so looked to other Italian icons of the 70's

Roadster 10th February 2016 22:35

Here you go Zag

A modern junior - alfa classic shape with a lower sleeker roof line- im sure mx5 hard top would work

y cymro 10th February 2016 22:52

I see what you mean about the roof being too long

y cymro 10th February 2016 23:04

From carbodydesign.com: The Alfa Romeo Giulia 50GT Concept is a design study of a modern reinterpretation of the Giulia GT designed by Bertone in the 1960s. The authors are Italian designers Michele Di Mauro e Claudio Piccioli.

Mister Towed 11th February 2016 06:19

I think you might have something with the Lancia Fulvia Coupe. Haven't checked the wheelbases, but I'm guessing that the MX5, Z3 or even SLK could donate their substructure for either a 'Tribute' to the original (right) or a modern revamp similar to the 2003 concept car (left) -

http://i1301.photobucket.com/albums/...psbevj7abm.jpg

zagmad 11th February 2016 16:28

The thing with concepts is their a suggestion of what the future could be. But I'm looking to combine what already exists that works with the donor. Making it work for the 2seater arrangement of the mx5. Its not a 2+2 like some cars are made out to be.

zagmad 11th February 2016 16:38

I'm also not trying to make a replica, more of an Italian inspired 2 seater gt. I've got the side windows from the gt so can see how that works with what is their already . The fulvia from the windows down looks good butbi would go for a more sleeker roof line.

molleur 11th February 2016 17:05

Maserati A6GCS Coupe

Sancty 11th February 2016 18:25

The Lancia Fulvia Concept is an interesting project. The mechanics and the chassis of the Fiat Barchetta, then we would already have a starting point.
The only problem is the front and rear lights, unique to this model.
If Chris builds a tribute Fulvia Concept Kit, I'm ready.:icon_surprised:
Regards from Italy.

zagmad 11th February 2016 19:52

Well if you took the Alfa Giulia gt 105 cut the roof off and put the hardtop of a triumph tr6 ob it what would you get?

Roadster 11th February 2016 20:18

or you Zag
imagine this with the lower roofline and more rake mx5 screen
loots of details to copy
https://youtu.be/-dEd6uQjSvY

molleur 11th February 2016 20:41

Works for me!

zagmad 12th February 2016 20:39

If only someone had the mold of an entire roof and side and back window that would be awesome :-)

Zag, if you mean for the Alfa, I sent you a contact for this last week?
Did it not get through?

zagmad 13th February 2016 17:46

Nope didn't get that. My emails are up to date and if you sent it via private message it hasn't shown up yet. Thanks for the effort though.

zagmad 13th February 2016 17:47

That panel would make a big difference if had access to roof shape and rear top quarter.

fatbloke 13th February 2016 18:15

Posted this in another thread, this website has a body shell for a Chevron B16 and a McLaren M1a available. I reckon the McLaren body might work on an MG TF.

how about an MX5 Alfa Giulietta Spider?

2 Attachment(s)
The Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider of the early 60s was a gorgeous design. Wheelbase within 15mm of an MX5 and width 100mm narrower - so would look more purposeful/butch. Windscreen in same position as MX5 but more upright. The MX5 windscreen, door glass and soft top could all work.

IanA 19th February 2016 21:14

How about one of these:

http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d6...extmobile2.jpg

from one of these:

http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d6...extmobile3.jpg

Yes I know the proportions are not quite right (!) but to make a change from Z3s...

Rather nice, I didn't realise that Austin had ever built an A30 roadster.
