Is there an update (inc new pics) of this conversion?

With the run up to Stoneleigh and the Kobra going into production, the SWB progress has slowed somewhat, but we will be back up to speed after the show and a much needed holiday.

Will you have a SWB 'work in progress' at Stoneleigh?

I'm quite drawn to this one, I think it's going to really work.

Easy does it Mr T!
You know you can't afford a divorce!

The Kobra looks great now it is painted (the blue one) so looking forward to see this one finished and painted before I decide which one to go for :-)

Puma931 , everything comes to those who wait! obviously i beleive that the SWB is the one to go for and having seen some of the work done by Chris and Dan the waiting will be worth while , Geoff .

casamolino 8th May 2014 15:28

I may not have a car to attach it to , but i do have a Made In Italy (Nardi) wheel , Geoff .http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...9/DSCF1440.jpg

Thanks Geoff, sorry that you have had to wait a while longer but with the Kobra now sorted it's back onto the SWB again.

Here's some random shots of foam filling/filling of the wooden buck:

TVR doors look like a great starting point for the SWB shells and the Z3 skins:

This is looking very exciting

Is the plan to use the BMW doors as is, or to re-skin them?

We are planning to retain the Z3 doors and over skin them.

Tribute Automotive 30th May 2014 21:43

Here's an idea that may or may not work, replacing the side windows on a Z3 softtop with one's from the "coupe". I need to do some photoshopping....

Filling on the wooden buck is still plodding on, pun intended!

Helps with the continuation of the design language :-)

zagmad 30th May 2014 21:46

Quite like the side vent . Hint hint

If you knew of anyone could adapt a mold ;-) so as to shorten and use cut outs to vary the size of the vents and bar across.

Good find. The rear of the glass looks much too high though for the roof line of the Swb. But if the window runners allow it to be that angle at the rear what about one made from polycarbonate?

But if it fits with the glass a bit lower in the door is that a real problem? Much better than plastic ones surely!
