I like these decals

Should look nice over the blue but maybe as mikmiglia says toned down to "old English white" :thumb:

WorldClassAccident 27th October 2013 07:57

The Shadow 27th October 2013 08:06

I have the "modified" Navigator and the BMW powered Pilot.
I was told the original grills were supplied with the Sammio kits but not with the Ribble kits hence the question?
Are the grills avaliable, if so how much??

That said I am looking at the new chrome "shopping trolly" grill

There's a thought, pop down to the nearest canal with a grille opening sized template and a pair of snips, fish out the most recently dumped shopping trolley and snip yourself a shiny chrome grille! Every little helps...

Painter's work has been slow so he's getting on with the rest of my G-46.
Doors now painted
http://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3b01d84f.jpg
And the bonnet is now in primer.

The paint brings out the curves well me thinks

Sure does!

micky1mo 1st December 2013 17:02

The bonnet is now painted and will be ready to re-fit over the next week.

The head light recess looks painted but it's the original "sammio" gel coat.
I am not sure weather to paint them black white or silver :noidea:

Now need some "off-white" roundels and a stripe to finish it off :biggrin1:

davecymru 5th December 2013 07:40

I do like that colour, very nice!

micky1mo 11th December 2013 13:22

Finally started putting the G-46 back together at last
It is now sat on my ramps under a sheet and when ever people ask what under it I have great plesure in pulling off the sheet and watching the look on their faces change.
The photo does't do it justice, you have to be stood in front of this to get the "feel of it".
It's just awsome :first:

Does anyone know here can I get decal made up? I have asked Andy but no reply.

Viatron 11th December 2013 13:26

If Andy doesn't reply drop me a pm or give me a call and ill sort you out
Mac

AndyP57 11th December 2013 13:51

Hi Mike, We spoke just the other day! I'm just waiting for you to send the cream vinyl and it will be sorted. I can do the racing numbers and if you send dimensions, I can cut the stripe too as long as you send enough material.

micky1mo 11th December 2013 15:09

That great :high5:
Sorry for the confussion but it sort of got lost in a very interesting conversation (still waiting to be contacted).
There a roll 5m x 1m on ebay will that be enought?

I'll pm you with more details.

micky1mo 18th December 2013 18:49

Got the front grill fitted, it was one from Andy @ RIBBLE.
It looks solid but it does have small holes and it's just right for one of Andy's new RIBBLE logo's

http://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/...psfca7f15b.jpg

Finally found and fitted the new/recycled rear lights.
This turn-out to be quite a job, it's the old story of the "Sammio difference"
I could not get a smooth and even line off the rear end so it was just a "Sammio gest-u-ment" :noidea:

After much chopping of the new expensive paint work I end up with this

http://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/...psa2848215.jpg

A closer look shows the old light holes covered with a bit of stainless steel mess into which I put the LED reversing lights

http://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/...ps72d992f8.jpg

From the profile can you tell.
A, where GJ might have got some inspiration and B, what car the light units came from?
Just need the chrome bumper and decals now :gossip:

http://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/...psd96b9358.jpg

My next problem is how to fix the boot lid :noidea:

HouseMartin 18th December 2013 23:43

Nice lights

Micky I do like the rear lights the extra grills. It will certainly keep people guessing.

I am going for something similar with the slimmer sunbeam tiger units.

Paul L 19th December 2013 06:26

Micky - Your G-46 is coming together very nicely.

I'll be interested to see how you sort the boot lid out.

Good luck, Paul. :)

phil9 19th December 2013 06:56
