Engine choice
 

My Cabrio Ebay purchase is making very slow progress-I have decided that the engine is not worth rescuing since it had been stored underwater!My first thought was BMW but then I started worrying about the weight-so I am now looking at Zetec and Duratec. Are there any problems waiting to bite me with either of these engines?

Cost? A decent zetec setup will set you back about £3k, duratec even more.

As Chris says cost is an issue with the Zetec or Duratec route but if you go that way let me know as I have an MT75 hydraulic clutch 5 speed box that has done 2000 miles (supplied new by Marlin) and set up for the Marlin chassis with the correct prop output flange which is surplus to requirements.
