Shipping to the United States

Wondering if anyone has experience with shipping a Tribute kit(s) to the east coast of the United States?

Thanks in advance

Patrick

Thanks Wozzy, I've contacted them about 6 months ago. Good info.

I have also spoken with DHL agents. US Customs, etc.

250 SWB, what's your interest?

Jack

Hi hope you eventually get a 250swb Jack, I know you rather like them.

All the best, Bob.

molleur 24th January 2017 23:47

Thanks Bob, it is your car that influenced me!

UpstateCobraGuy 25th January 2017 00:55

I have two possible projects. Number one, a Factory Five Racing Cobra replica frame in need of a body and a D-Type body would be the ticket. Second on the list is my '97 Mazda Miata which is a perfect candidate to become a MX 250.

Munky 25th January 2017 04:29

I'm in the US and considering a 250 SWB along with a couple of other kits.
I was lucky enough to bring the first DNA 360 over about 10 years ago, helped a couple of others until DNAUSA was established. So I understand what you need to put on the paperwork - from 10yrs ago!

Still not sure if the SWB is for me yet or not. I have a lot of trust in the DNA guys who helped me out a lot, always on the end of the phone.

I'm based in MN. Thinking about something like this (color should be closer to primer) as a stop gap until I get paint and fancy wheels...

Sorry my photoshop lite skills are truly dire!

Thanks for the 'loan' of your car for this picture, Geoff!

Oh my god i am not sure 546 FTE will live it down ! :hand: Geoff .

Munky 31st January 2017 01:35

Sorry - 546 FTE does look good in grey without the trimmings though! :)

Going through the process of getting quotes for shipping. I'm pleasantly surprised! Icing on the cake, the wife is on board too! :eusa_dance:

I'm looking to import two kits. First a D type kit for my 90" WB Factory Five Cobra frame.

The second is a MX250 kit for my Mark I Miata. Both should make great father/son & daughter projects this summer.

How quick does Tribute turn out kits?

When you are waiting it seems to be for ever.

Munky 1st February 2017 00:53

That looks like great fun!
I have to say, I'm a bit concerned about the volatile exchange rate at the moment. It was pretty good after Brexit, but the pound seems to be strengthening again, making it more expensive to import one.

Xkss

UpstateCobraGuy, did you decide on a shipping company yet?
I'm also looking to have an XKSS shipped, but to California

Shipping to the USA

Hi Upstatecobra / Munky, if you need any help shipping from the UK, drop me a message. I own a freight forwarding company and do a lot of business with my agents in NY. (www.evolutionforwarding.com)

I'm just about to start my first build, the MX250C, Chris is justing finishing the front end so I should have within the next couple of weeks. Will be starting to post pictures and requests for help / tips as soon as the kit is received.

If Chris has given you dimensions of the pallets the kits is on let me know and I'll give you a comparison quote to either East or West Coast.
