Perfect!

That, with a roof and an aston-esque grille and i am sold!

WorldClassAccident 2nd March 2013 07:27

D&O - that is pretty close to what I am going for but mine may have the A352 front end. What donor are you planning? I am thinking BMW Z3 for a more modern car and I need an auto.

Down&Out 2nd March 2013 17:17

Im quite a fan of old mechanics and that, i'd probably go herald or spitfire donor with a meaty engine and leave it at that!

WorldClassAccident 2nd March 2013 17:22

Don't blame you. I have a 1969 Scimitar SE5 on the drive part way through becoming a G46 which I have had to sell since snapping my foot off.

The BMW is a marriage of convenience. Reliable automatics where the gear shift wasn't total slush went that common 20+ years ago. I want something that is a little bit fun to drive, even with just two pedals.

Down&Out 2nd March 2013 20:50

Ive got a dolomite 1850 thats automatic, i can see the allure, it all depends on what sort of car it is with me!

TriBond 8th March 2013 11:17

I want one!
Buckler chassied Mistral.

Looks quite good as a tail dragger

puma931 16th September 2013 14:24

Hi

Where can you order this body from, how much and what is the wheelbase?

WorldClassAccident 16th September 2013 15:49

Have any of these been sold?

Pandora 18th September 2013 17:53

I'm working on aquiring a suitable (and period) chassis as we speak, but would want a few (very minor) mods to the body - return edges etc. Will keep you posted

New developments on the Mistral Project front.....

Looking back over this tread at the little red TVR Jomar (which uses 2 Mistral front ends) I was wondering how much work it would be to recreate the "one-off" car....

...when I found this on Ebay. I love Ebay :bounce:

5 weeks until the Exeter Kit Car Show, need to start this in about 3 weeks time then!

redratbike 18th September 2013 22:19

Looks a short wheelbase?

casamolino 19th September 2013 07:15

Early TVR?

garyh 19th September 2013 08:27

Is it a Taimar?

AcC8braman 19th September 2013 11:22

3000s

Down&Out 19th September 2013 12:08

Sneaky! ive been looking on ebay for those, are you going to make a kit with a roof using that TVR body then? very very interested!

Tribute Automotive 19th September 2013 21:06

It's a TVR GRANTURA MKIV body shell. If you compare the door shape, bulkhead, lower front wing and front lower part rear arch with the "Jomar" car you will see that they are exactly the same.

Here are some interesting TVR/Jomar history links:

My idea is to "recreate" this car:

http://i1046.photobucket.com/albums/...ps65a827ba.jpg

using the TVR shell and the Mistral front mould that we have. I have the doors and wheels already, just a few bits of trim to collect...

Pandora 19th September 2013 21:56

and a consul classic low line screen, if you fancied making a coupe!
Are you using a TVR chassis too?
