Intro, Headlining and interior trim
Hi All,
I suppose I should introduce myself before asking questions! My names Leo, and i'm an addict. there i've said it! On a slightly more serious note, i built an MX5 based Westfield 3 or 4 years ago, and having sold it a while ago i've just about forgotten all the frustrations about building a kit, and fancy building another. Then i stumbled upon the Tribute, and like the idea of a hard top. Sooo, my question is: what do you all do about covering the inside of the fiberglass roof and or the roll bars? Also, on another note, what are they like driving in the rain? |
Hi Leo,
for the headlining I plan to usr the out side of the roof as a mould, and laminate a few layers of GRP over it. Onces removed it will become a headlining which I will cover with foam backed vinyl . I have filled, faired and sprayed my roll cage. I may wrap them in foam backed vinyl where its near my head. I may make panels for the quarters too, just time is tight at the mo. I plan to do all the upholstery before gluing the body on. As to what its like in the rain...I hope its dry and tail happy!! |
Hi Leo.
Nick is right with his idea for the headlining, we can do the same for you and supply a lightweight headlining "shell" in GRP that can be upholstered before fitting. I have just sent you an email with some more info and will take some pictures for you on Monday. Regards Chris |
Thanks Chris,
just going through the email now. |
