Looking at Phil's link to the IVA manual you repeater needs to be visible when viewed from an angle behind the vehicle of 5 degrees. With any significant lock on then it will not be visible.

That is where I put them on my Cabrio and it passed IVA. Not 100% sure if its OK on cycle wings as the view changes as you apply lock. I would be inclined to fit them just in front of the doors.
