Just checking for a friend (of course), I was surprised how low powered the 2 and 2.2 litre Z4s are. 0 to 60 around the 8 second mark is hardly "sports".

The lack of a charge light isn't an mot fail. You could do a bit of wiring to get the light working, but a voltmeter is much better solution

You will need one of those soldering irons...
You will need one of those soldering irons designed for plastic welding.
The hardest thing is finding the right plastic welding sticks, you will need to buy a range, then it is trial and error....
