Froggyman, I believe (looking through older posts/ pictures on here) you just need the body loosely fitted on top of the chassis and no requirement for it to be driveable, this is why I need to get mine done soon, as I want to change the rear end to the MX5 subframe setup and fit the engine from the MX5 too, which will be easier done without the body fully fitted.
