The nyloc is already on the cap. I just found an electrical end terminal that fitted the bolt snugly, bent it up slightly and then soldered on the sink chain. Fitting the other end required loosening the rear tub, pulling off the connecting hose (I used the flexible stuff) and re-attaching, making sure the end of the chain was now trapped between the filler neck and the hose, and the jubilee clip holds it all together.
If you need a few inches of connecting hose, I've probably got some spare somewhere which I can let you have.
