The extra tube pulls up the bulkhead so that it is flat for most of the way. I just had to use a thick washer in one place to pack it out. Considering I had a 1/4" (6mm) gape before its a great improvement. Gives more confidence with the brakes to - in that you can stand on the pedal and the bulkhead no longer moves!
