When it come to insurance quote, Adrian Flux are about as crooked as you can get.
Went to get a quote from them for the Z3 kit and they said they would mirror my 9+ years NCB across, limited mileage of 3k and a value of £7.5 as it wasn't finished. £400 FFS!
I asked why this was double the cost of my Merc SL which is faster, and worth a great deal more than the Z3. 2 minutes late the premium had dropped to £185.
There are quite a few companies now that will mirror your NCB but you have to firmly ask your broker, they won't offer unless you ask.
Insurance brokers make Estate Agents seem honest.

Try A Plan WCA they were £130 a year for my GTO
fully comp
windscreen cover
5000 miles
£8000 agreed value
Adrian Flux were nearly £200
Also gave me a quote for my wifes classic mini that was much better than Adrian Flux you have got to shop around as a couple of calls can save £££s

I always ask for a better price , no matter who I'm with. 9 times out of 10 you will be offered a better deal. That's as a new customer or at renewal time.
I've used Flux and A plan in the past , the policies have been ok and a reasonable price.

Chis recommended I tried A Plan this is my second year with them,
10 years + no claims
Retired
Post code BL1
3000 miles
protected no claims bonus
Agreed Value of £22,000, their suggestion so it may change when they see the photos of the finished car (90% there, was £14,000 last year whilst completing the build)
Legal expense cover
£207.99
Very helpful.
Hope to see some of these great cars you guys are putting together at Stoneleigh, so there should be more then last year.

I'm waiting on A plan to get back to me in the morning with a price for my 2.2 Z3. Its a standard car at the moment but I want to enjoy it through the summer until the 275 convertible kit becomes available.
I've asked for 5000 miles, fully comp. I have my A6 insured through them and they say they can mirror my max no claims across. So I hope they can give me a good price.
Swinton quoted me £490 but they wouldn't or couldn't mirror my no claims. I left them two years ago because they were too expensive on my daily driver.

A-plan came back with £240 which isn't too bad as I've put the wife on as a named driver and she had a recent claim. I don't think I'll do any better. I can always cancel after 5 or 6 months and get a refund.

I went with A Plan.
Claire was really nice to deal with and helpful. Pointed out that I needed business cat 1 on top of what I had. She was correct even though previous insurers had missed that.
I went back to Adrian Flux and miraculously their quote was 76p cheaper.
I went with a plan for their service. Say hi to Clair's on the a plan stand atcstonliegh , she camps there every year

Footman James £130 fully comp.
Kobra value 10K, 3k miles, age 48, 2800cc
They don't seem to recognise Tribute as a manufacturer though.
So they have it recorded as an AC Cobra Replica (Tribute)
