Sort of an update. I chose to use the Alfa gt rear screen. Went for the thicker 5mm poly. Does have a nice curve to it.

Yep.it took alot of thinking about but the rear screen and boot match up in width. It may look like an Alfa 1900 cc by now but ive left the finished shape to Chris. Short sloping roof long boot.

It happens when I happens. Any updates of progress via pics is up to Chris alone. But it isn't far off what was shown before but possibly a more sloping roof. And the boot and bonnet extended and made wider to slow for the mx5's extra girth.

Yup. With gaps filled and smoothed over. This is the final shape and lines.

I tend to find 'original' designs too clunky for my tastes and usually prefer classic replicas, but that's a really great looking car in its own right.
Nice work Tribute and Zag!

Looking good. Is this just a one-off for Joe, or will moulds be kept for a kit?

It's a Lancia Fulvia Zagmadato.
I would love one. Campagnolo alloys and a Lancia badge. It's the best looking non-production non-replica I've seen.

I think that depends on Chris.could look nice on the front of a mrs2000 kit with a lancia grill put in the middle like the Monte Carlo 037. Mid engine rally with muscle style front.

It brings some hints of corvette,Alfa, swb, lancia and even some muscle car shapes thrown in. The bonnet vent is eventually going to be shaped like The Alfa Romeo 2600 coupe and helps break up the extra width and length. If I can keep it for a year I'll add some more period custom features. Depends where my wife and I are living.

Cant wait to drive the mx again. My Dad would of loved a drive in it. Sadly he passed away late May of this year aged 65. Ive decided to call it the Alf GT Italia after my Dad.

The name is a very good tribute to your Dad.

Thank you for your comments. The build has taken shape nicely since the last visit. The lines are more defined and the outline filling in. boot lid area next .
