If you build the car well you shouldn't have water getting in. Just make sure all the seals fit correctly etc etc. Just takes time and a little skill to get right. Don't assume windows will simply leak , its all down to the quality of your build !

That would rule me out of doing the finer details then.
by brightwork I mean the chrome trimmings, handles, window frames, bits around the lights, mirrors etc. the magpie stuff.

IMO its worth buying a "good" donor and spending a little extra to find a rust free, low mileage car with the exact spec you're after. You will get back around £1000 when you sell on the bits you don't need .

The "brushed" look on stainless and ally can be had with Scotch Bright and various grades of wet & dry.

I would be seriously interested in something like this, the hard top would not have to be removable, I'd get a donor with aircon. Either get a donor hardtop, else maybe Tribute could do one (is that likely)? Looks like they are busy enough as it is.

I am getting way ahead of myself here, but is anyone good with changing colours in images. I'd like to see what the Coupe looks like in Mercedes Laguna Green (image below).
Definitely not traditional.

Worse, previously and accountant, now working for a software business. But definitely not a salesman. I could be losing my grip though.

Excellent, thanks Andy. I guess that it shows what folk always say, you lose some of the definition with light colours and very dark ones. I was thinking about maroon, but it can often look a turgid brown, being euphamistic. (No, you don't have to).

Maybe Lotus yellow? My daughter always said that there is no excuse whatsoever for yellow cars, then ended up working for Eddy Jordan.

Trouble is no one has built a light coloured coupe yet so I cant 'shop it'. Comes out light brown on the dark cars.
