Steve P - Welcome to the forum.
Your Kobra looks good in the photos, which I've just added to the "Useful Info" thread.
Cheers, Paul.
PS
You might want to consider adding a NSFW (Not Safe For Work) warning to your thong photo link.
As I've worked in several places where just opening that link in an open plan office would get you into trouble.

Steve,
Rattle cans ! Wow that is dedicated. From the pics it looks bloody excellent. I like that you kept the filler cap as it was. Keeps it simple (?) and keeps the smooth lines.
Are they two reversing lamps or I should one a rear fog in a clear lens ?
Have you noticed any difference in performance since replacing the Z3 parts with the Kobra? I assume it feels pretty much the same?
I ask so many questions. Sorry.
Love the wheels.
Dave

Hi Dave. One of the rear clear lights has a red bulb and is the reversing light. Not taken it through a MOT yet but hopefully it will be ok. I only had the Z3 for one day prior to its strip down so not sure how it compares to original. Hopefully its lighter and with improved air inlet and silencer its a bit quicker. The handling will be different as the track is now much wider and with lowered suspension it will probably be improved when the roads are smooth. She does follow the dips on bumpy country winding roads but I am used to that with some of my other cars (Lotus7 replica and a Chrysler crossfire). The filler cap is off an Audi TT and was flat but the body panel was curved so lots of filler to help it blend in. I am happy with that bit. I am thinking of respraying it satin black as gloss black does show every imperfection in the surface below. It does go well though and everything works on it. I just need to get it closer to 99% as at the moments its more like about 92%. Lack of time does not help.
Cheers Steve from Whiteley Hampshire

The stripes are red rattle can. I put 6mm wide stick on gold pinstripe between the red black joints and that worked well.

Nice work Steve from Hampshire.
The use of the TT filler cap is well thought through. They BM wheels ?
I (hopefully) will be doing my own Kobra this year so I always ask questions.

Good question WCA. There is a good chance of that.
I'll check in with when we having a summer holiday and see how to work it in. It's not that far after all I will bring beer/beef money and questions but no interesting wheels

The wheels are optional extra on BMW's made by a third party OEM supplier to BMW. Not quite meant for this model but the offset was great and it fitted tyres that cleared the suspension. The original Z3 clover leaf wheels didn't look right on the Kobra. I did buy some old 5 series wheels that I thought would fit but they would need special spacers made that would have cost £400+ so they are in a nice stack in my back garden pretending to be a garden ornament. Ditto the Z3 clover leaf wheels. Anyone need some wheels? Good luck with your build. The instructions I got from Tribute were pants but fortunately I like a challenge and having just restored a Robin Hood Lotus7 kit car then I had loads of experience to call on.

Update from the Landlord "Am going to get in touch with the South African meat supplier in town, and look at having some interesting meats on offer for the BBQ."
Hope you like grilled gorilla and wildebeest burger!

Well worth it with the right cuts and prep. Usually spicy or herby. They leave over night to marinate. Just keep turning the meat like a rotisserie. Juicy and sweet. Spuds in foil would work as well. My wife's family are from zim and know their bbq skills.

Meeting at 11am for the early birds who want to drive convoy style around Southampton / new Forest
Reconvene at the pub at 1:30pm for BBQ etc
I am getting a taxi home so it all ends about closing time.
The marketing material is getting produced by the pub at the moment so will post it up here when I get it. It might even appear on the Website.

Hi All - Just bumping this up the forum in advance of Stoneleigh. Hoipefully you will have a great time there and want to meet up again for beer and food in sunny Southampton.
Please add your names - even if you aren't bringing you Tribute car so I can give the landlord some idea of numbers.
Cheers

Ok , so this is the food , when are you going to tell us where the venue is? I know its somewhere in Southampton but a location to aim for within a 1/2 mile radius would take out some of the guess work !
