Pretty interesting, sounds like he knows what he's talking about to a layman like me but that doesn't mean anything.

I must admit I do like the idea of fitting the complete column unmolested

His conclusions are the exact conclusion I came to - and to be honest, looking at that table he has with the pulses / mile conversions is exactly the same as my spreadsheet - so much so it looks like a cut a paste job.
