Black or Green
Honestly, I can't decide.
Black will look great with the cockpit colours and the wood, Green is the traditionalist's choice.
Both of these mock ups where done a while back by Patrick.
This is the only green he did, and it's to light - BRG is darker in my mind
This was specifically done for me, as I have BBS wheels and the red interior.

If you ever want to sell green would be easier... Black is one of those colours that either love or hate - green is a bit more universal. BRG was my second choice....

PS Think about some protection for the rear arches. If you see my car at Stonleigh you will see what I mean...

I voted black as that is what I would do. I'd go with satin black or very, very dark satin green.
Maybe even matt black with satin black scallops from the front tapering down to the door edges.
However, a deep British racing green would be 'more conventional' and saleable but are you intending to sell or enjoy for yourself?
Maybe a dark metalic green would be good.

I voted black as I think you need a strong colour that works well with the powder coat on the chassis down the side. with black bodywork you see the shape of the car as whole unlike with lighter colours like silver where the eye is only drawn to the silver bits
Having said that, proper BRG will do just as well but you'd have to get a big white spot on the side and a number sprayed into the grill.

I've gone for BRG. Black looks good on current production cars but I'm not sure it would work with Marlin styling.
But Black would probably work better with your interior.
I think I favour BRG though. Traditional styling. Traditional colour.
I'm a long way from painting yet but I think for mine, BRG is playing 2nd place to a nice deep red.

If I ever get a bigger garage, and decide I can live without several vital organs, I'm building a Suffolk SS100 at some time in the future.
I think the problem I have at the moment is she's been beige and silver for so long I have difficulty visualising her in any particular colour.
I really am 50-50 on this. I'd love BRG and race numbers... but then I do like black cars as well

How about BMW carbon black, has a really deep bluish tinge and takes on colours around it.
Black would be a complete bugger to keep clean and swirl free but it would look awesome.

What colour is that, Chris? Green, obviously, but what paint code / make & model? It looks nice, and dark. I also assume it's solid, not metallic.
I was looking last night, and did quite like Jaguar Dark Green Opalescent - it looked very nice on the Mk2 I saw it on.

Its Rover British Racing Green number 3. It is metalic.
When I went to see the sprayers and asked for BRG they asked if I wanted British Leyland/MG, Ford, Aston Martin, Rover, Morgan.....
So on the grounds I might want some touch up paint I though I'd go for a late model colour from a fairly large volume manufacturer, and said Rover.
To which they asked was that Rover BGR1, BRG2, BRG3 or BRG4? When they show me the colour swatches I could barely tell the difference between them, so BRG3 was fairly arbitary.

I found it so difficult to choose a colour that in the end I bought one of those sample thingies - it looks like a giant feeler gauge but with each feeler a different colour. Of course you stilll can't visulaise it actually on the car - but at least you know when you have decided that you have the correct paint code! I will bring it to Stoneleigh if you want to borrow it.

Just a reminder that there is a couple of pics of a black painted Sportster in the Picture Gallery on this website.
Despite all the votes I reckon your hankering after BRG with white roundels
After narrowing down my colour to just four !! I bought some rattle cans from Paints4U which make up manufacturer matched colours. I then painted one of the front wings. Colours take on a different look when on a curve car panel.
Every visitor was treated to the... 'Which colour looks best' but in the end you'll know it when you see it yourself. Mine was on a Lexus in a car park and I knew when I saw it that had to be the colour!

My God, I'm crap at photo-chop, but here's the fruit of an evening's doodling:
The green could do with being a bit darker, but you get the idea. I tried putting a white roundrel on each colour option, but as it's a flat shape on a compound curve it all looked odd, so I left it off. Like I said, my Photoshop-fu was weak.

Good effort with the Photoshop.
Black makes it look like a hearse.
