Default Keeping your bonnet up

I fitted the uprated rams to my 250 but every now and then they won't hold.
I've just bought a lightweight expanding bonnet prop that works a treat, it collapses to about 50cm and will extend to 120cm. I intend to fit it under the bonnet with clips.
About £12.50, search on eBay "laser bonnet/tailgate support 4301). So much classier than a broom handle.

I have just started to work on my MGB seat conversion, I picked up new foams, diaphragms and seat backs from Moss Europe, at the moment (until the 12th) they have 35% off which makes quite a difference, they also have a branch local to me so no postage either.

Will do, the thick end of the prop is 22mm and the thin end 15mm so I intend to use pipe clips to hold it in place, probably just in front of the slam panel.

I’ve used the same expanding bonnet prop for my MRS200 RS200 replica build, together with clips for it to sit in under the bonnet. Works well and to be honest is just as good if not better than a fixed bonnet support.

I’ve also got a couple of rubber straps located at the bottom edge of the bonnet/bumper area where it is hinged as it lifts up and away from the screen scuttle area just to prevent it flipping back too far.

Just use one of those extending decorating poles for use with a roller - a fraction of the price!

Not bad but the ankle is why I always have the stick in the car...
