Yes indeed, it was a the Goodwood Revival last summer and I felt it would be rude to ask the price

It looks like it has the same mudguard brackets as Marlins

I managed to polish up the extension pieces I made for my bookrack tonight. The design has changed somewhat from my original idea, as it was way over engineered for what it needed to do.

The boot rack now stands on 4 aluminium feet are attached using M5 screws inside the extensions, and the whole lot will be attached to the car using 4 stainless bottle screws that will get cleated to stainless eyes attached to the roll bar and the bumpers:

I modified the rack my removing the end screws holding the outermost cross pieces in and replacing them with M5 stainless eye bolts. The bottle screws hang from these.

I'm particularly happy with the finish I got on the aluminium this time:

The bottle screws have a right hand and left hand M6 thread, so as you turn it either way it either extends or contracts. If they don't quite reach where I want them to go, I have some stainless rod that I will make into longer arms for them.

I've re-polished the grill mesh, after being disappointed with the finish the metal fabricator managed to get on it. I think I've done much better.

I bought a cheap stainless polishing kit from Halfords (£16), as it had narrow mops in it. Just the job to get into the nooks and crannies of the woven mesh.

Whilst I was disappointed with the finish on the grill, he did a brilliant (if you'll pardon the pun) job on all the other bits - especially the exhaust. Kerchow!

Other news - Normandale have had the bodywork since the 18th March... And my latest chat with them seems to indicate I won't have it back until the end of NEXT week...

What's slightly annoying is that I was 'booked' in for the 18th - which in my mind suggests a schedule / plan with my stuff being done in a particular slot. The impression I'm getting from them over the phone now is that it's being done as and when nobody's got anything else to do. Hmmmm. I just hope that the finish is as good as Simon's cabrio, and it's worth the wait.

The thing is, it's starting to get tight time wise, as I need to bolt her back together for Stoneliegh. It's not helped that I have a 5 day residential course to go on for work on the 23rd...

Arrrgh!!!!

Very pretty, you like your shiny bits don't you.

Instead of having your panels painted you could have had chromium plated panels all round, now that would be a bit of eye catching bling.

Think I will put mine at the opposite end of the queue to yours at Stoneleigh. Cannot match your perfection.

There are one or two cars around that are totally chrome. Awesome definitely need sunglasses for those.

Well, I've just had a call from Normandale - the bodywork will be ready sometime this week, the very latest Friday

Can't wait!

I found it took 4 times as long to put the panels back on than take them off. Have fun at the weekend!

And I would have to agree.

I think you have chosen "THE" perfect colour. Black is a super colour but when mixed with that deep Jaguar burgandy makes it all the more stunning.
Be sure to post some pics when you have put the panels on.

Pics, you say?

Why not.

I've got almost all the bodywork back - they still have the bonnet sides and tops to make sure they're all OK around the louvres. And they have the rear wings, as they're putting some stone film on them.

I've spent most of the day re-assembling the doors and nose cone. I'll be putting the tub on tomorrow.

Well, after playing hokey cokey all morning (dodging rain showers as we went) with the tub trying to get the door gaps right, she's pretty much clothed now.

All I need to do is bolt the side panels and bonet on when they come back from the painters, and the rear wings.... But there is light at the end of the tunnel!
