Default Using a Written-off kitcar as a donor?...

Hi guys,
A possible situation has presented itself in the shape of a written-off kit car which, if used as a donor for a new (identical) kit:

1) Assuming the donor kit car had an age-related plate, would the new kit be awarded an age related plate also? i.e. if the donor was correctly registered, would it be the same as using any other donor?

Or, would there be a greater likelihood of being awarded a 'Q' plate? (Due to ambiguity of origin of the engine/box & other components?

If the donor is cat 'C', I won't get a V5 document. Does this make a difference?

Any ideas? Thanks. - Glenn.

I can now confirm that I have indeed bought a written-off Dax Cobra. My intention is to use it as a donor for a new Dax kit. It has an age-related plate but there is no V5.
For evidence, I could show DVLA photos of the car, also I will have the registration number and also the old VIN plate from the chassis, which will have been scrapped.
With this, do I stand a chance of getting another age-related plate? ( )

Hmm think it's a bit of a tricky one particularly if the donor has been scrapped.

Kit car or not, usually have a chance of age related plate if donor is still "not scrapped" by using two/three major components (engine, gearbox, etc, but may have changed) of the registered donor.

If using parts from an unregistered donor, may be a Q plate. Unless there are new or reconditioned with proof, then a new plate.
