Cheers Guys, i had looked at the ageless plates but the price put me off, the Irish dateless plates however look more of a reasonable price so will keep an eye on them.

I have done nothing with the car recently, have been contemplating selling it to make room for the next project but after doing so much bespoke work its hard to let it go but i do enjoy the building aspect along with the challenge of manufacturing one off parts.

Ive been checking out a few classic car sites to sell it on and it does look like the continent is the place to go for bigger money, the Dutch and German's like these cars so who knows it may end up in europe, not sure if the registration regs in europe are straight forward for a re bodied car.

All EU countries have to accept this car with a British registration(fitted with rhd lights)no matter if it is a rebody or not,after the brexit it will be more difficult probably

Picked up some 1964 "B" reg plates from Ebay for £60 +£80 transfer. Transfer took 2 days, it has to have an MOT but does not need to be taxed or insured. Makes transferring plate very much easier. NI plates always stick out to me, hopefully "B" reg plates on an old looking car will stop me getting pulled for having black and silver number plates. I have always run "small" numberplates on my bikes and have never had a tug, but they are always in the correct font and never miss spaced. I think Plod are more interested if they are hard to read or understand. I mean come on, if they can't be bothered to attend burglaries they shouldn't be to bothered about a wrong coloured numberplate unless they are really bored.

jaguartvr NI plates do stand out and don't have the period look, still pondering over what to do.

Took the car out yesterday in near freezing temperatures to try and get a couple of autumn shots but got absolutely soaked on the way back home, the ironic thing is i would of been back home in time if a guy had not stopped to chat to me about the car and all of his past builds.

Had the obligatory flying jacket on with goggles which kept my body warm but the rain on the fore head at 70mph was shear torture as if needles were being fired at me, did try to duck as low as i could behind the screen but the damage was done by then. Think i need to buy a hat to cover the reseeding hair line plus it will help to stop the brain freeze, it brought back memories of my biking days many years back but in those days i was a lot younger and just got on with it.

When out on my bike I only have an open faced helmet so always keep a balaclava under the seat. That and a pair of WRS74 Davida goggles. If you don't have them and you get rain you are limited to 40mph and will be freezing very quickly.
On the plus side if it doesn't rain you can always wear the balaclava and do a bit of "rape and pillaging"

Think Karmann Ghia coupe. Windscreen, rear glass. General shape is okay.
I can make any fiberglass/modifications without too much trouble. But no Sammio's on this side of the pond.

I also seem to be noticing the cold more now than during my earlier biking days, so we must all be getting old.

Not so Reneanglia, trying to register a rebody in France is nigh on impossible, regardless of Its British registration before, haven't given up completely but it will be more down to luck than normal.

Pops is the british reg includes the rebody or was the reg a standard car reg and the rebody done in france?
If the car has a british reg saying it is a for example a triumph miglia 2 seater there should not be a problem.........even in france.

It is a long drawn out process to register even a left hand drive car that was first registered in Belgium then uk then France. I've done that twice and gave up with the kitcar. It appears to depend on the department you live in. Good luck pops.

Its been a while since i last had the car on the road and after reading various posts on the forum (especially Paul's and Mr T) over the last couple of weeks Ive been chopping at the bit to go for a blast so today the weather has been good plus the roads have dried out with very little salt left, this is the last run in 2016.

Headed off over the moors for a good hours run which put a smile on my face. One thing Ive noticed is the water temperature gauge has given up the ghost so new one on order, i can't complain as it was second hand which must of developed a leak. Also the oil pressure drops to near zero at idle when up to temperature so oil change in order with a thicker oil, it's been in for over a thousand miles while running the engine in after the overhaul.
