Sad day guys
Hi all,
it's a sad day, but guess we've all been there some time or another. As you know my build has been on line to hold the record for the slowest!!
Most of you guys know about my problems last year, and as a result the end of last year left me a lot worse than I accepted. I had to resign from the job I had, and take a break to sort my life issues out.
That's all sorted properly now, but due to the fact that I seem unable to get a job locally doing anything at present, my poor old girl has got to go.
I have the docs in my name, the chassis has been repaired, painted etc. I have a Sammio full frame, Head rest pad, all suspension stripped, cleaned and painted, new bolts, and trunion kits, top ball joints, new dampers all round, stiffer lower springs on the front, lowering block on the rear, new rear brake shoes and cylinders, all hoses and metal pipes, nice set of second hand bucket seats, Triumph wire spoke steering wheel, set of 5 cream bolt on wires with 80 profile tyres, engine, box and diff all painted. Lost more I'm sure but will need to check. All in all around/just over £2000 but would take £1500. Someone can then get a head start with their project. I will post some photos soon, once I've moved the rolling chassis out to photo,
Any one interested pm me
Regards

Sad news Rocker.
You can always build another one at a later date.
Good luck with everything, and hope it all works out in the long run.

Thanks
Thanks matey, it is a sad timebut I need to prioritise and the car will have to go. Hope to keep in touch with everyone, and will be back like the Pheonix.
I am amazed at the incompetence of the agencies, I have even registered my details and qualifications with Serco. They send me vacancies in the Norfolk area almost daily for positions such as RGN, Occupational therapist, Dispensing Nurse etc in the local Hospitals and Prisons. Laughable when my medical qualifications stop at Emergency First Aid at Work!! Still as a Motor Trade Service Manager, perhaps my Management skills might be more productive than the current Hospital Management structure if several friends outrageous treatment is anything to go by.
Still, if anyone in the Norwich area knows of anything going I'm up for it. The recruitment agencies don't even bother to get back to you, and it was obvious one hadn't even sent my CV. There you go. Shocking, but I have said I would take any job as long as it was permenant, and all I get is no thanks you're too qualified. Perhaps I should stand for Parliament, couldn't get it any worse eh?

Sorry to hear of your situation - been there and it does get a bit dark sometimes, which is why some of my 'witty' remarks seem a bit acid to some - classic overcompensation on my part.
I know what you mean about the job situation and it hurts seeing the level of incompetence, shallowness, inconsideration and lack of courtesy shown by almost everyone out there.
I've been lucky enough to get some casual work at a local hospital at odd times, a day or two here and there every few weeks - its not much but it keeps me same, ironically I now have all the time in the world to build a car...
There is life out there - and there are still a few decent people about, if you can find them - keep trying.
You might get a better offer on e-bay for the parts, especially as its apparently 'spring'.

Sorry to hear that Simon.
But life first and car second seems like the right thing to do.
As others have said, hopefully you will get another chance to build a car in the future.
Good luck finding a decent job, Paul.

Sorry to hear your bad news.
I know it probably isn't any consolation, but my lowest point was being made redundant on the day Michael Carroll bought his £10,000,000 lottery ticket in 2002
Good luck with the sale and I hope you get your working life back on track soon.

Better news
Hi Guys,
fingers crossed and not getting too excited yet, but M&S have agreed to repay some missold PPI!!!!! Not millions, but if I can get back into a job by month end, I will be able to keep going (think that should be crawling) and keep the build. Fingers crossed guys, and get those PPI claims going in, deadline for claims is 2014, and to be honest my company now has around fourteen claims going for me. You can do it yourself, but for a lazy son of a ? like me 25% plus vat of recovered money is a small price to pay for very little work. Who says massive borrowing doesn't pay? Rest assured they are right children. It's not clever and it's not smart, but it's a handy way to get some money back.

Life seems to flip-flop like that.
(or as a lady once wrote:-
'..life has a funny way of sneaking up on you when you think everything's okay and everything's going right and life has a funny way of helping you out when you think everything's gone wrong and everything blows up
in your face...)
Really hope it works out.
