I haven't fitted a tonneau to my Sportster but I have fitted one to a previous Marlin. The main thing is to do it on a warm day (or in a heated garage) as the material is more flexible and stretches. If you do it on a cold day you will find it sags as soon as it warms up. It's also worth unpacking the tonneau several days before fitting, and laying it flat to get the creases out.
