Default GP Madison Roadster Cafe Racer

Hi There,
I've been on the road a year already. It was built between April 2013 and January 2015 by myself.

I Hope you like what i've done.

I think I may put a build log in the Vintage Section too as I have many pictures of the rebuild.

Cheers
Simon

Simon - Nice car.

A build thread would be great as you have a lot of nice touches.

Enjoy it, Paul.

I love that. Great to see an different approach to a different car. Well done, it would be great to see it at stoneleigh this year, we need to see some of the old kitcars looking refreshed, too many 7s at the shows these days.

Edit. Just had scan through the build photos, this is a proper 'nut and bolt' rebuild, really nice job.

Thanks for all your kind comments.

I will be at Stoneleigh on the Monday.
The only issue I have is the lack of other Madison's to park up with.
Thats why I put up these threads, because I can't beleive no one else has one to show off!

There doesn't seem to be a Madison owners club, not even as part of a genaral GP Club. GP did make a lot of cars but only the Buggies seem to remain.

Are there any local general clubs that i could attend with? I am in South Yorkshire.

Cheers
Simon

More News!
My Madison will be at Stoneleigh all weekend. I have been ask to put it in the CKC Magazine Hall of Fame Stand in Hall 3. What an Honour!

Please come and have a good look...they will be roped off, but don't let that put you off.
Hopefully I will get to see a few more Owners there, too

See you all there,
Cheers
Simon

Well done Simon Looking at the photos, the work you've done certainly deserves to be on display

Hi,

Saw your car at Stoneleigh show and just wanted to say it certainly deserved to be in the best of the best section.

Congratulations you have an amazing car, I hope I can get somewhere close to that standard some day!

Cheers.

Hi,

I love your car. But I was wondering if it builds ontop a vw beetle baseplate and if so how did you move the shifter and handbrake so far back?
I want to attempt to build a madison my self but before i buy anything i want to check if i can do all the work my self.

Thanks so much and sorry for possible mistakes xD

Hi Fidel,
Yes, my Madison is the VW based one.

The handbrake is not moved, but just positioned vertically. The gear shift is done by removing the shift rod from inside the chassis tunnel, cutting out a section of tunnel where the gear shift is and moving it back to its new position, then shortening the shift rod to suit its new position. The welding is no more than that you would do to repair a normal car.

Do you have a complete Madison to rebuild or just a body needing a chassis?

Cheers
Simon

Default Hey Simon,

I would love to build a Madison. But unfortunately I cant find a Kit wich isnt completed. I thought i could just build my own body but it is difficult to get it street leagal if not impossible. I can get a beetle chassie und move the shifter and solve any other mechanical problem but the body is the difficult part for me.

Cheers Fidel
