Really don´t know the increase, but i could keep up with another miata on the straits that was turbocharged to 225hp at the wheels, but my car is about 150kg lighter than he´s, and he has rpm limit at 7K and i have 8.5K so i can pull second gear a bit longer too...

And yes i fancie a supercharger too...

Hej, that engine looks great! so i'm going to drive over next year once i completed my car and i'll leave it with you for a week

seriouly though its a great project obviously you came into it have completed more than one previsously but it doesn't take away from the finished article.

Do you have any completed car including engine bay pictures so we can see the whole overall article?

Andreas - Your car really does look amazing.

I've just updated the Tribute "Useful Info" thread to include some of your photos and a link to this thread.

Can I ask about the DZUS fasteners you used for your boot lid?

- Does the boot lid sit directly on the top of these fixings?

- Did you make, or buy, the spacers to mount the fixings to the rain channel?

- Finally, is it easy to lift off the boot lid without a handle?

Hi Paul!

* Yes that is correctly! You have a sharp vision!

* I made the spacers of small pieces of brake line!

* Well yes and no! It is easy to lift off but takes a small effort to twist up all the dzus fasteners, but i really don´t use the car for shopping etc....

Yes, i always has plans. First i was going to supercharge this engine, but i like the natural aspirated sound and feel. So i have been thinking of going v6, and after that thought about the audi 4.2 v8, but now i am thinking on the old volvo 16 valve 2.3 litre, which can be bored and stroked to 3.3 litre! And it gives only an additional weight of about 30kg compared to the miata 1.6 engine. The volvo is rwd too, so gearbox can be used also, and is availible as dogbox and sequential...

Hi Andreas, can I ask what size rotas you bought? I've been looking at rota grid V's for when I do mine but not sure which size suits; yours look great!

For your Mazda MX-5 based kit- try one of these...

...weighs 4kg less than the extant 4-banger and produces 200 ftlbs of torque low down- bolts on to a standard MX-5 gearbox- just needs an induction system that doesn't foul the bulkhead like these throttle bodies or bike carbs- a real no-brainer if you ask me.
Get one from a Mazda MX-6, 626, Xedos 6 or a 24v Ford Probe. Apparently the ones to go for are from automatics because they have limiters fitted and won't have been thrashed.

I was taken out for a drive in it at Stoneleigh- went rather well...

Ian - I have 15" Rota Grid V's on my MX250. Have a look at page 9 of my build thread: http://www.madabout-kitcars.com/foru...?t=4179&page=9 The main driver for choosing these was that they are a zero offset so no need for spacers.

A word of warning, I bought 15" diameter 9" rims for the back and finding tyres to fit this rim is a bit of a challenge. I ended up with BF Goodrich tyres which are not the cheapest option. Also, you will need to do some work inside the wheel arches to avoid any rubbing on full lock at the front and bottoming out at the rear as they are a 60 section tyre.
