New Start !!
Godd morning all, I have the pleasure of just buying myself a uncomplete sportster to finish and I am sure I will be on asking some question in the near future. I am in Northamtonshire and this is the first kit car I have biult and looking forward to it.

Tell us more about what you've got and i'm sure we'll all be along to help with lots of advice

Thanks everyone, I have got myself a part built stage one kit which is 2 year old. To be honest the only thing on it is the front suspension, it was just what i was looking for as I was on a budget but wanted to do as much myself as possible. Has donor parts apart from engine and gearbox, he sold these seperate, so i will need to find a donor car so i can get the reg. I will set up a build site once i get it in and settled, looking around I think flkr is the best way.
Thanks again

Hi and welcome. Good luck with the build.
If you want an age related plate at the end of the day, you technically need to have several major components from the same donor (make sure you have the V5 else you can run into big problems...). However, since it is only the engine number that is recorded on the V5, there is no way of telling which vehicle the diff etc have come from, as long as it is a matching model. But you would need to claim they all came from the same donor (not something I could recommend of course!!).

Nothing to stop a v5 update with a new engine number before iva/registration
