+1
Is there much "tinkering" left to do before it is on the road?
Good luck. Paul.

Hi all just catching up on their sammio site. Seemed to lose my mojo last year had no get up and go. Discovered I had cancer of the bone marrow 9 weeks ago having treatment producing massive amount of red blood cells should have been 43% mine was 72%. Seems instead of running on 15/40 I had slick 50 for blood seem to have set a new record and lucky not to have blown the engine. Had 7 litres of blood removed over three weeks and 14th litres of saline put in to water me down. Now taking chemo drug to kill red cells ever week. Apparently incurable but manageable long turm. My son's say I should have gone for their world record for holding my breath, I should have done it easily with all those red cells. Nothing like being told you should have died to kick you up the arse and set your priorities. So finish car and drive around uk then perhaps abroad. house jobs not to mention flight in a spitfire. Will post as I get time. Prefer the new bonnet Mr T.

Very sad to hear your news 'Noob, but it sounds like you're making the best job of living with the condition.
Good luck getting through your bucket list, it's making my spine tingle just thinking about the Spitfire flight. I've been up in supersonic jet fighters a few times, but a back seat trip in a Spitfire would trump those any day.
All the best and keep plugging away at your Sammio, it ain't going to build itself you know...

CarNoob - Wow!
A near death experience will always put any car building difficulties into perspective.
Your car was already looking very good last year, so I hope it doesn't need much to get it on the road.
As driving the car will definitely bring joy to your life.
Especially if it is a trip to an airfield with a Spitfire waiting for you in it.
Good luck and take care, Paul.

Trying to remember how to post photos. Haven't done anything to the car for along time, but bought an industrial sowing machine and managed to drop it. On the brighter side it's now upgraded to sow leather and seems to be working well. have started putting together the covers for the seats which I had cut and widened so each pattern is individual.
Had my Spitfire flight awesome, and some good hols bali etc. Patio relaid all round the house and wall built not to mention the list of jobs the wife leaves on the kitchen table. Will keep chipping away at the car when feeling up to it will keep you posted of any progress

Good to see you back.
I'm sure your sewing machine will do a better job than my attempts at sewing by hand.
Good luck, Paul.

Yes for me it is MOT every time, I have 3 cars that are now exempt but another pair of eyes over everything I consider very necessary. I don't have a ramp so cannot really check everything properly and I am sure if you do have an accident the first question would be when was it last independently inspected?
Better safe than sorry

I wouldn't drive that in the U.S.
"Will you look at that Cletus, that there fancy yoo roo pee'n car has a bullet proof screen out back. Let's see if it'll take hits from a hunt'n rifle..."

Oh, and I'm another one for an annual independent safety check on anything I've built.
