Question Seats

Hi chaps, would love to have some suggestions as to what seats my fellow builders have plumbed for.
As I am building a 5exi Door version I do not need Marlins cut out seats. Therefore can everyone who has already purchased and or installed their car seats, be so kind as to post what they have gone for, approx cost and where they purchased from.

Like the dash (see wing mirrors thread) I am confused as to what to go for.

Best regards

Mike

Mike, I have the doored version and do not like the marlin seats anyway so opted for lotus elise/exige seats from the version 2 car

They are full black leather so look the dogs and very low slung so you can fit them scraping the floor if you want, mine have about a 1 mm gap below. And of course they have the advantage of being on runners

Thanks Craig they sound ideal. Can you advise where you bought them from and approx cost?

Mk1 Elise seats ~ £200. Small, light, on runners, and designed for a very similar application. No problems with comfort, and seat the occupant very low.

Hi Mike.

I got some cheap ones from Makro for now. £110 a pair they were. Come with runners as well.

Mike, s2 seats vary in price but a good set in leather will set you back between £500 and £700, I got a brand new set for £500 but had to drive to blackpool at a moments notice.

I think the big advantage is in what John has said they are made for an almost identical car and there weight is only about 5.5kg per seat compared to about 30-35kg for a normal sports seat

the last link any of the seats will fit! I must admit that I like the second down on the right seats but very expensive even used
