new sammio
Just wanted to update everyone on the new sammio. I had the pleasure of meeting mick yesterday who let me have a sneak preview of the new model while in the area over a cup of coffee or two and cakes!.
The new model looks great although what I saw was the buck so the finish is not ready get the style is looking very good with plenty of possible variations to make it your own. Mick had only just got the vehicle back to sort out for Stoneleigh so moulds not made yet. I think he will do well the bodylines are good and symmetrical so the body should be good from the plug and fit fairly quickly in a weekend he reckons!.

If you click on the attached photo, you get this address/code:
http://www.madabout-kitcars.com/foru...1&d=1460316217
By putting [img] in front of the code and [/img] at the end you get this..
Hope that helps, Paul.
PS
The car looks great.

As Paul said copied the properties of the photo but used the post card icon in the menu
What are you trying to load?
Photobucket or another image hosting site is easiest just copy the IMG code once you gphave uploaded the photos to the host site

The all new Sammio is looking very pretty. The body has been successfully re sculptured but still retains that 50's racer look.
I found this video to show how old this idea is, fibreglass body onto a standard chassis to make a sports car.

The rear end looks similar,
It would be nice to think that a few of the sammios will still be around in 60 years.

It's a pretty thing. Some 15" wheels would fill out the arches nicely. A wraparound perspex fly screen would look good, too.

Mine will still be around because my projected finish-date is February 2076.

Spent some time on the buck today.
Made and fitted a pattern for a fly screen and got the bonnet to shut better.
Reworked the front area as the original made the front look to much like a "Datsun 240Z" and a beer crate grill wouldn't fit either. .
Still working on the back lights but in true Sammio fashion there are a few options, the tape is just to help line things up and not just to show how straight and even the rear end is .
There's these lights,
Or these lights,
Haven't tried the standard round mini lights yet.
Still hoping to get a good coat of 2-pack glossy paint on it but undecided over the colour as red needs a few coats and we will not have time if were going to make Stoneleigh.
We still have some of the baby blue we painted the Gulf racer in so that might be a nice period colour.

Micky1Mo - That last photo, with the lights inboard, really makes the rear arches stand out.
At this point, I'm not so sure about the changes to the nose, but know having it all in one colour will makes a big difference.
I am a big fan of the baby blue colour and actually think it would help the car stand out at Stoneleigh.
Good luck, Paul.

I agree with Paul L's comments above basically ...I love the rear of the car ...the front is just making me want to say '' MORE CHEESE GROMIT'' at the moment , but as Paul says , single colour and a grille that fills the void will possibly change that ...Pale blue is a great period colour , Jennette had a pale blue Sammio with rivet detail and single screen a few years back and I really liked it in that colour amongst a glut of red examples ...but red is always a winner too ...so who knows ?

I also preferred the original front - would have modified the grille to fit

I think that you have a winner with the original front.

Spent some time on the car today.
Still awaiting the Perspex for the windscreen but fitted the bonnet bits and pieces.
Covered headlights.
After much trial and error I ended up with these lights and will try to find a chrome reversing/number plate combination light.
To late to do a paint job for Stoneleigh so the red will have to do
