I was happy to have mine on the Tribute stand last year and chatted to a lot of interested show goers. It will be on there again this year all being well. That's all I'm saying.

It was these cars on display that sparked my interest in the Tribute range. It will be great to see some completed cars and I'm sure there will be a flood of orders for both Tribute and Nubodi when people can see the full potential, rather than the part built examples displayed last year.

Reason: Don't mention the B*ntl*y. I mentioned it once but I think I got away with it...

Progressing with the build today. Managed to get the genuine side repeaters on and the headlight assemblies (I know they do not have Lucas P700's on the original but they look so good). Also got the front indicator assemblies on (I prefer the white lenses to these clear ones though). Also the inner headlight trims were dull finished (genuine Lucas) would have preferred chrome but this would be easy to change at a later date. This colour is really growing on me.

We bolted on one of the new hubs, a freshly painted wheel, chrome spinner and new tyre just to see what it looked like. Good so far.

Next we did some work on the rear end. The indicator lights were fitted and the nice personal plate supplied by the customer.

The rear lights were fitted along with the indicators. The rear reflectors were next. These have to be millimetre perfect or the whole rear looks out. We spent a lot of time getting these right, eventually relying on eye to get perfect. They were then bolted on.

Nearly finished now. The boot is perfectly aligned after much fettling and spacing. Rear starting to look good. The red you can see in the photos is a red silk Ferrari cover which is protecting the paintwork till its fully hardened (about a week or so).

Now we have to get the lock mechanism to work properly so the 'bear claw' lock mechanism is aligned with the original BMW striker/loop. It takes a bit of tweaking and oiling for it to work smoothly. The brackets are hidden underneath secured with polished dome mushroom head allen bolts (much nicer than a hex head and washer setup). I know most will never see this but its all in the detail!

Over the weekend I should do the rubbers, carpets, boot prop and badge script. Would do more but off to London to do a show review for Kitcar magazine. First 'sort of' day off in many months (even worked on Christmas day!)

The car looks good, really good. I love the lights and the little details. Colour is terrific too and the wheels (being comparatively skinny) look much better than I thought they would.
One thing (I'm not carping, just being constructive), is there any chance a rear number plate could be made that actually fits the aperture? The extra border at the side could be filled and the plate appears to overlap the lower edge by a few mm.

Looks great, you must paint the inside of the boot lid though.
Would look fantastic with a blood red interior against the gray.

Of course we paint the inside of the bootlid! You have seen enough of our work now to know that?
On all the others we have done the numberplate fits the aperture (see red Kalifornia pictures). Plate was supplied by the customer.

Re. plate: fair enough, I'd not noticed the issue on other cars.
Look forward to seeing it altogether, everything looks terrific so far.

Looks flipping good ! Do like that colour. And one thing I never realised was how huge a boot you end up with this kit.
Looking forward to the next lot of pics

Don't worry, these are only show plates. The road legal yellow one will fit perfectly.
