Default Ants Alfa

Probably old news, but it looks like Ant is starting to do a little kit based on the MX5. Probably not road legal (cough cough) but for once, it could be built as a kit and run on the road in the US (well in my state with a little hard work with the department of public safety).

What do you think?

Hadn't seen this one but just watched the first episode on Amazon and, shaky-cam aside, it's looking very interesting. Thanks for sharing the link

About to watch the first episode

Looking at it doubt if it could be made road legal over here without a lot of work or more money thrown at it but what a cracking track day car it could be .

Imagine a load of these racing around

Have now binge-watched the whole series and it's a fascinating journey.

He did a fantastic job with the development of the car and can even register it for the road in California using a similar rebody process to the UK.

The only thing I wasn't keen on was his bespoke gear-change linkage which to me appeared to give pretty clumsy and long travel changes.

It's a shame the Alfa gearlever appeared to have been cut off during engine and gearbox removal as I felt it would have been within reach of the driver. After all, they stick out of the dash pretty much horizontally in the donor Spider giving an up-down plane of movement rather than aft-fore.

Bloody lovely car, though.

Barrett & Jackson supposedly sold it for $110,000

I would like to point out that a firm in the south of England built a Maserati type in the late 80s, Alfa engine
Can't remember the company name, something like ASC
the engineer 's name was something like Ellington
It was far better
