Default Jaguar V12 project

Hello all....just joined your forum!
I was doing a search about the Jaguar XJS and a thread here popped up where someone was asking about using them as a donor car, and one of the replies asked anyone using one to post some pictures....
Well, I started this on Boxing day (got sick of Xmas!) and thought I might start a thread about it?
I have already put up some posts about it on pistonheads but thinking this might be a better place for the kind of advice I'm going to be needing....
So, is this the right section to use, and have I uploaded this pic correctly?

Ahhhh yes....forgot to mention that!
I'm in the middle of a bodyshell rebuild of an E type and decided to take a set of moulds off it before painting, so this car will be a tube/sheet chassis with E type bodywork....same length as series3 cars but Xjs track...
Also, instead of the Jaguar screen going for MX5 screen and electric hardtop...

Superb project, fingers crossed for you and don't forget to post lots of photos so that we can watch your progress, and steal some of your ideas - in a nice way

p.s. i think you're right in saying that you're more likely to get more help/advice here than over on PistonHeads. Not that i'm slagging it off as i frequent both forums. I just tend to find PH gets a lot more "bloke from the pub said...." type comments, especially on the kit car section, whereas here someone is likely to have actually done what they're talking about

Thanks Dave, yes I was thinking that! I've built half a dozen kits in the past but that was before anyone had heard of SVA (or now IVA) and that's one of my biggest concerns.....and I don't want to build in any problems if you see what I mean!
No pics this time I'm afraid...broke my camera at the weekend, but some progress though.
Have been thinking about some of the things that will give me problems such as window sealing, door locking/latching, wipers etc and slightly changed plans....
Have just acquired a cat C, 2011 MX5 which will be donating its bulkhead, windscreen, wiper/washers, demist, electric hardtop, doors and A and B posts....all to be incorporated into my chassis. So, in theory at least a lot of those problems will be fairly easily solved. The doors will need to be re skinned to get the outer shape I want but otherwise most of the interior will be standard Mazda....re trimmed of course....which I'm hoping should be IVA acceptable?
Have also just received a big box of E type panels from Martin Robey so theres a lot of welding ahead.....
