Default Donington Kit Car Show - What would you like to see?

Good Afternoon everyone, craacking site, some really fantastic builds on here!

Nibmus Motorsport are attending the Donington Kit Car Show again this year, as we did last year and would be interested to hear what types of products you would like to see in the trade hall.

As non of us who work at Nimbus have owned/built a kit car before, we would like to hear what sort of issues you are faced with whilsts building, driving and racing your kit cars, so we can predict what products will be of interest to you.

We specialise mainly in heat management products, Ringers Gloves, and Torco oils and fluids.

We will be there all day both days and are looking forward to attending the show, hopefully it will be as successful as it was last year!

Thank you, and i look forward to reading replies!

Chris - Nimbus Motorsport

What a good marketing idea, ask the customers what we want from you! Much appreciated and quite refreshing to see

My 2P is that a lot of kit cars are running engines and exhausts that were never designed to go in that application so some, especially the 7 owners, have components closer together than would be ideal. Others like myself, have problems such as running components in locations they were never designed for, i.e. mid-engined with a big Rover V8.

So i suppose that people would be interested in any of your product lines that would allow them to be "creative" and still allow them to have a reliable car.

Heat shields, heat wraps and all the modern and alternative options that are out there.

hope that helps your thinking?

Rgds

Dave

Hi Dave, thanks for your reply.

Thats great, gives us a good insight into the sort of products which should appeal to you guys. And going from that, our Reflect - a - gold, heat sleeves, exhaust wraps, cool tubes, our Nimbus G2 heat shielding and other heat related products would be perfect. Would you say Kit Car builders are interested in trying to bring down noise levels in the cabin?

We do quite a few different types of floor and tunnel shields which is both sound and heat matting. But to me, a kit car should be noisy!

PS - Your Countach Replica looks fantastic!

Thanks

Chris

Hi Chris,
As mentioned by Dave, heat management is an issue with an awful lot of kit-cars.

I've squeezed a Rover T16 turbo engine into the back of mine, the turbo is 10mm from the fuel tank, the exhaust runs right next to the gear linkage cables and coolant hoses, the silencer is right under the charge cooler etc... so I've had to get really creative with my heatshielding:

The finished bay has more shielding than in the photo (putting a divide between the silencer and charge cooler) and still after all that the fuel still vapourises on a hot day from heat soak!
