Default MX5 gearbox question

I have my eye on a low mileage 58k mx5 at £800, but it crunches going into 5th. Is this common or does anybody have any idea on costs to repair such a fault?

This could be my donor lads, so good news would be appreciated.

Right scrap my last. I was outbid by a mile. I now have my eye on one with fairly high mileage at 128k. So what are people's opinions on this size of mileage? Are they robust enough to put high miles on providing it's been looked after?

128,000 miles on a Miata is just broken in! Seriously, I have read that the drivetrain is very strong. I go to some Miata forums and there are a lot of them with 300,000 miles and still going.
