Default G46's where are you?

Come on G46 builders I need some encouragement, whilst I love reading the threads for the spyders, surely there are more than us and WCA building a G46.

I will be updating my progress on the G46 V8 Mk1 over the weekend, WCA ? & others?

I have been busy organising and building a new mountain bike centre for Southampton. After a year of chasing people for permission and funding it finally all came together on Easter weekend I had to coordinate about 40 happy riders digging up the Sports Centre.

The only progress on the car has been putting the suspension back together on one side and taking the other side apart. Also discovered there is no drum brake inside the drivers side rear drum.

Hopefully I will get down to the Bristol Car thing this weekend, sell the TVR and be able to give Gary some money, buy a wiring loom, get some brakes and make some progress.

Hi Charman,

I have nothing to show at the moment as I am still connecting up the wires that join the nissan ecu to a multitude of sensors, instruments and other bits. The idea of staying with the fairly modern setup is fuel economy, reliability etc. but there are more wires in the engine loom than in the entire original scimitar harness! Once I have heard this engine run I can press on with the more interesting bodywork bits. Current thinkng is to dispense with the scimitar grp floor and use ply like the spyders. This will allow the floor to extend out to the bodyshell creating more space in the footwells and the boot area. Bulkheads will be ply and the steel tubing (I asked Gary to supply a bundle of tubes loose rather than frames) will be cut/bent/welded to fit the curve of the body to brace the bulkheads and provide attachment points for door hinges, windscreen frame, dashboard, steering column, seat belts etc. All ideas at present and as yet untested!

Default Wow andrewhush!

As you know we are radically altering our shell but I have to be honest I do not think we could of done it without the fibreglass floor plan. Even though we cut away most of the bulk head we still had all the reference points.

The best thing we did was not to skip the drivers footwell bulkhead as it provided all the dims for the pedal box and steering column.

Has anyone else got their G46 shell yet?
