I'll look out for that, sadly the feature on it that they were hoping to do is not going to happen now as the magazine is finishing.

I've just found a couple of nice column switch knobs so the car might not been quite finished yet!

Cheers, Bob.

Posting pictures of your knob is against forum rules.

I didn't know about KitCar magazine coming to an end. I haven't bought a copy for many years. It must be hard for the publishers since the internet has taken over so much. I stopped buying the magazines because the content was mostly advertising and the cost was OTT for the few interesting articles that were there. A quick flick through at Smiths was enough for me .

Sad if Kit Car is ending........ It's good to support the industry (and our hobby) by buying the mags. I subscribe to Complete Kit Car, which has few adverts and lots of good content!

Bummer! I was waiting for it here at the USA booksellers.
Expensive here $14.25. This was the issue I really wanted!
Love Phil's green Sammio!

I've been involved with kit cars and classics since the late 1980's. Whilst the classic side has gained hugely in popularity, the kit car side has fallen off a cliff. Its a shame the two haven't come together in a bigger way, the classic scene has never taken the kit car side seriously. However, with more classic style kits out there than ever maybe its time for a change of heart. I know Richard at Nubodi had a massive amount of interest in his red Kalifornia when he took it to the LeMans Classic last year. I'm sure much of the Tribute range of cars would appeal to the classic enthusiast. All those potential customers out there simply won't know about Tribute and their cars, which is a shame for the kit industry.

I've always been into classic cars and still have one. The price of classic cars has now got into silly money, 25k plus for a mini!!

I think with classics at an all time high it may well get more attention from the classic scene. I used to equate a kit car to something with a poor body, damp interior and a VW engine.
With the rebodies using a decent platform and engine to begin with and no IVA it's a whole new game.

I haven't been able to get a issue yet so if anyone could scan the picture and put it up for me I'd appreciate it.
I'll still try to buy one though as I'd like to read the Brass Monkey report.
Cheers, Bob.

A bloke at Brooklands January show either this year or last was interested in my car and I explained about the rebody. He was really enthusiastic and loved the idea.

He explained his was also an older car with a newer body and walked me over to his 1928 Bentley rebodied in 1934. I remember being struck by the similarity in our two cars...

I've got the relevant Kit Car mag now, thanks. Pleased to see the Brass Monkey report with photos of friend's cars and the Sammio feature on the car I saw there. A nice reminder of a very nice day out.

I've been trying to sort some suitable column switch ends for a while now and while poking about today in some of my old stock I found a tatty switch assembly from something or other.

The plastic ends are much smaller and neater than the BMW ones so with a bit of drilling out they have now been fitted.

Not much, but another part that's less obviously BMW.

Cheers, Bob.

It's a long story.

It started as a tatty 3 spoke, 3 hole wood rim with damaged vinyl bits on the spokes next to the wood. I took those off and decided to replace them with an extra hole.

Due to a complete lack of brain power I drilled the holes wrong so the 2 small holes became one slot. The centre is a bakelite 1930's(ish) wheel centre in the surround from a Lucas rear light.

I do like to fiddle about with details.

Bob.
