Tim - I found the link by using 'Quote' on your last post and could see the photo.

Right clicking on the photo allowed me to copy the link and that gives me this.

So it definitely works.

ok with the picture there you might be able to see i was using expanding foam. i had made a paper cylinder, cut to match the compound curve of the body under the headlight.

when trimmed it looked like this:

the other side has a photo of that stage:

then i glued on a fibreglass disc i made from one layer of CSM, cut to fit the back of the blinker (land rover defender)

trimed and primed, this is what the final looked like:

the rear was done similarly, after much mocking up and family discussion about placement.

actually from this photo I had abandonned the foam idea as too fiddly when all i needed to do was glue the disk onto the back of the body in the right spot:
[img][/img]

I used CAD to get a mirror template/jig for the left. at this time I also prepared the herald number plate light. i'm afraid i have that at a barely noticible jaunty angle. what looks like a crack behind the speed hump is just a casting defect in the gel coat.

https://photos.app.goo.gl/Uk2yo6ZdHa7nVrUS6

this is what it all looks like at the back finished. i did go ahead and hit the back with primer and red out of a rattle can but dont have a pic of that in google ready. you can just see the speedo. I cut the dash to low and have extended it since then.

thanks for watching!

found a pic of the back - well its mostly a pick of my little helper, but you see the car, the lights, and the reflectors I had to put on - you know, laws and boring stuff.

Tim - Sorry, I can't seem to get those links to work.

There is something not quite right here, as the code I got for the photo that did work, is a LOT smaller than the code for the latest photos you posted.

Cheers, Paul.

hey paul - frustrating. I tested those links and it showed succesfuly on those tests, and i''m sure they showed OK on the day i did it. I have those set to public and all that.

I will try again, but I am obviously doing this wrong as so many various ways are not working for me since photobucket.

thanks,
Tim

Tim – We are definitely getting closer to cracking this.

As I think you are copying the link of a photo in album view, rather than the individual photo.

I started with this link.

https://photos.app.goo.gl/TjqVmRFSeN2pXQ4D8

Which looked like this on my screen, after I cropped it to highlight the initial code.

I then used ‘Open image in new tab’, rather than use the ‘Copy link’ option in that menu.

In the new tab that opened, I then used the ‘Copy Image Link’ to get the code for the IMG tags.

Which gives me this.

It seems the code needs to start with ‘lh3 .google user content . com’ (with no spaces).

Rather than ‘photos . google . com’.

Following the same process, I also got these.

I think the sequence should be:
Select the photo album first
Select the photo in that album next
Then right click the photo for the ‘Copy Image Link’ code

Good luck, Paul.

PS
Nice work on the light plinths.

the 'driving lights' or parkers or whatever these white ones are called, just placed in cut outs of the grill plastic.

I get copy address not link. The short link is what i get when i use google's link generator. the long bit that starts with google user content seems to work today but from past experience will be gone tomorrow.

Tim - I guess that is the problem, but I'm sorry I have no idea why you are not getting the 'Copy image link' that I get when I look at your photos.

I get a 'No Entry' sign when I looked at photo codes in your latest posts.

Whereas, at least these links bring up the photo.

https://photos.app.goo.gl/eeQP7KSMTvE6yyvz5

Anyway, keep chipping away at your build, good luck, Paul.
