Sorry for lack of updates, but have been quite busy!
Not long to Stoneleigh now, but have now got all the panels sorted apart from the bonnet (one of Monday's jobs) and will be bonding them on tomorrow.
I think the car is really looking good.....
Car has to be ready to go to paint on Thursday night!!

Going with the MX5 red so the under bonnet paint etc matches.

It was nice to meet you Chris
The car looks great in the flesh - I think that its the best mx5 rebody available. If I knew that you were working on this i would have saved a lot of time and effort on my roadster and i would have built one of these instead.
Once the colour is applied it will be very convincing.
I keep thinking about this - don't tell the wife she thinks the car building is almost over,
A stripped out style racer - lots of tuning goodies for the mx5

Have watched the progress on this and think the results are fantastic and realistic. After my Sammio build maybe one of these for wet days. Good luck with the orders.

That had turned out so well. Nice one. Have been researching the history of the 'original', and am test driving my mates mx5 at the weekend. Is there any weight increase/decrease compared to the mx5?

Thanks to everyone for the kind comments. We had a really good Stoneleigh with 99% good feedback and our first order for the finished kit.
Reference the weight question, we have not had a chance to put the car on our local weigh bridge but I am guessing even with the "generous" GRP for the demo car (kits will be lighter to aid fitment) that it will come in under the original MX5 weight.
More updates soon.

Tribute kit ordered (cheers chris!), can not wait to get started. Decided to ditch the old bbr turbo mx5 and keep it as a hill climber. Found a v clean mk1 R reg on ebay that i am stripping today! Its a v clean perfect example so it will make a great reliable daily driver. Looking for some wide wire wheel's if anyone knows of any for sale.
Cheers
Billy

Hi Billy
Your kit is stacked up in the workshop with the others.
I have redesigned the roll cage to increase headroom.
Your base car sound great, you will need a lightweight version for your hill climber too!

Howdy doody Chris
Hi,
Wow you have been busy!
I am working nr Edingburgh at the mo. I am done up here in the next week or so.
I am looking atcoming down when i get back asap! so prob a week on sat.
The revised roll cage is looking very smart!
Dean is looking to buy my R reg car once completed (apart from paint) as he wants to do it in gulf race colours.
Interested in hearing how you got on with the mk2 mx5? as i have a freind with a damaged 2006 reg that would make a ideal donor for my next build!
I have managed to get some ferrari mondal wheels (ebay) that i may fit.
Cheers

Hi Chris. That looks absolutely fantastic!
How do you achive the increase in rear track. Is it spacers, or offset of the rim? If so do you need different rims front and rear?

Thanks. The wheels are a "staggered" set up, 7.5j 20et front and 9j 15et rear with a 25mm spacer (rear only). Have a look at this ebay listing: item no. 160812861810

Looking very nice.
Let me know if you want a build section started up. I'm sure your new customers will appreciates somewhere to discuss their builds.
Cheers, John

Thanks for the praise John.
A TRIBUTE Build Section would be great, thank you . I know that one of my first customers, Billy aka williammcloughlin, was going to post up his build pictures tonight, so I have asked him to hang on for a while.
Regards Chris

Was just doing it haha, I will hold off! Back to the garage i go!
Chris get back in the lab and get the mk2 kit done as i am going to need it sooner than i thought!
This is the best/simple fitting kit i have known! did not think last Sat when i collected it that i would be driving it today!! (minus lights etc). Crazy to think it will be in primer this time next week.
