Point taken. My hairstyle (if you can call it that?) is far more aerodynamic though -

I'm impressed that you even managed to get a (minor) celeb to drive it for you too. How much does Lionel charge these days?

This man is looking more and more like his brother Tony ! He was a bit of a joker too.

Scottie – Hope you have recovered from “blooding” your car.
The video clip looks great.
Enjoy, Paul.
PS
Do you have any “before” photos of your donor Spitfire?

War? What war? I don't remember any war. And neither do you. Look into my eyes, not around the eyes, and, sleep...
Now, let's discuss my revoltingly large fee for this interview mister Chilcot. Muhaha. Muhahaha!

Saturday
Thank you for your posts Mr Towed!
On the subject of Mr Towed, here is a rare pic of him, having fun at the sea-front on his rented jet ski............

Monday
Monday was Van-day.
Not strictly Tribute related, but I know several people have expressed interest
in this project, so here we are.
I stripped the van front off today, and the lights and indicators, and had a trial-fit of the "new" font.
I needed to extend the wiring a bit as the new headlights are a lot lower than Daihatsu intended them to be.
I was disappointed at the fit round the sides, but not overly so.
I fitted in on with loads of self-tappers to a good sound fit, then took the front off, roughed it up a bit, and Sika-flexed it back on permanently.
I will take out the screws tomorrow and feather the edges and fill it.
It will look very cute when finished!

Classic Car Show
Went yesterday. Excellent (esp. the Wall of Death )
This firm had one of their cars on display. It wasn't quite finished but nevertheless looked very authentic, certainly better crafted than their web site!!!

Thanks for that CP.
I suppose Jaguar will will go ahead and build the 9 new XKSS's just as they went ahead and built the lightweight E Types, and charge millions for them too.
BUT, the owner of Goodwood probably will not allow the new XKSS's to race there either, as he banned the E Types, saying they are not ORIGINAL cars, as they were built with 2015 metal and components, not 1960's metal and components, which makes them in his words: just replicas, NOT original cars.
And he will only allow ORIGINAL cars to race at Goodwood.
Now then, the XKSS I built is also a replica, but the main difference between mine and the new Jaguar cars will be the fact
that my car cost around 1 million pounds LESS to build!!
But it won't look much different to what they will buy.
Eat your heart out potential rich new XKSS customers!!

And don't forget that a Lynx XKSS, based on a '63 Jaguar donor, was sold at auction a few weeks ago for £161,000. One day A352s will be worth ??????

At LEAST 3 or 400 quid Mick!
That's an older pic CP, the dash is in bits at the moment, but I have fixed all of the electrical problems, must get it back together soon!

Well obr, it is and it isn't!
When I put it to bed for the winter, it was suffering from an overheating problem, and having spent two years building it, and then have the head gasket go and the subsequent strip-down, rebuild etc etc, (which was made much more difficult because I had opted for the non-flip front), I just did not have the heart to start all over again.
So at the present time, it is till waiting for me to sort it out.
Now that the better weather is coming, hopefully I can get stuck in and do it. So will update in due course.
I am most likely going to get a lot of stick for being an idle sod and not working outside during the winter with freezing numb fingers, but I had enough of that over the build period!
So that explains why there has been no updates, plus the fact that I did start a thread called "Scottie on the road" or something like that, but because I've done bugger-all, that was not updated either!
Here is a pic from happier days:

The car is superb and I am so jealous of that windscreen don't let me near it with a set of spanners or it may re-appear on my car lol.
