Default First post - intro and question, please.

Hello all,

I've stumbled upon this site via Google so I thought I'd join up and say Hi.

My reason for searching is that I currently own a Vauxhall Astra Mk 3. Mechanically it's great but the bodywork is pretty ropey - so I got to thinking about kit cars that utilise the Astra as a donor car. My very limited Google skills only result in matches for body-kits for the Astra (something I'm not interested in!).

Do any of you fine people know of such a kit? I'm looking for options at the moment rather than any fixed idea of what type of kit I'm after. Suffice it to say, though, it'll be a fun item rather than "aspirational" (if that's not already obvious from the intended donor car!!)

Cheers!

Not heard of a kit car that uses the Astra as a donor.

I've heard of kit cars using Vauxhall engine, gearbox etc, but I don't think many other parts. Usually the red top vauxhall engine or the Ecotech (I think).

Thanks Limpabit.

I'm not fussed too much about fully utilising the Astra - so just the mechanicals would be fine. Though it's not a red-top (ehem... it's a 1.4Gls or something... god, I'm embarrassed just typing that )

What kits use these, out of interest?

You best bet would be to go to Stoneleigh and have a look.
