Default Vitesse Rotoflex

Hi chaps

has anybody changed the rotoflex suspension, mines knackered so it needs changing.

how do you get the hub etc apart, according to the TSSC site you need a special tool for the hub and another for the bearing

how have you done it?

Mine's swing axle I'm afraid so I can't speak from personal experience. The specialist tool for the hub they're talking about could be this -

And could the bearing tool just be a hydraulic press?

You might want to phone Rimmers/Canleys for advice.

Hi there,

It looks like this -

It works perfectly. They are around £70-80. If you are close to Oxford you could borrow mine.

This part removes the hub. An attachment will push the shaft from the trunnion and release the bearing. You can just see this on the bench behind the large bolt.

Check this out for the most exclamation marks in a single listing -

I don't recall needing anything special to strip the Rotoflex setup. The hub is on a spline, not a taper like the swing-axle and an ordinary puller works just fine. Setting up the bearings is a complete pain though as they're shimed.

The moders solution is to have the uprights machined to take Rover 100/MGF bearing assemblies and then use the Rover/MG hubs and a pair of short Rover 100 driveshafts with adaptors to match the diff.

You get better bearings and dump the troublesome, vibration inducing, expensive Rotoflexes.
