Default Vmax

The IVA test requires a declaration of the maximum design road speed for the vehicle.

I wondered what other builders had done in the past. Have you simply taken the max speed for the donor or is there an alternative. I guess the donor was much more slippery than the sportster but not sure whether that should change the declared max speed.

Or does it not matter what speed you declare so long as it's less than the speed rating of the tyres.......................

Yes, just make sure it looks realistic and is less than your tyre speed rating and the speedo. I think that's all they use it to check for.

Sounds like you are filling in your IVA application. Good luck

P.S. the actual maximum speed in a Sportster is limited by how brave you are!!

All I've got around to so far is printing the IVA application form.....................

My hand starts to shake as soon as I pick up a pen.

Watch out for those sharp, stabbing pains in your wallet...
