Looking good! I cant wait to see our Sportster in that state of build!
What size wheels width/offset/tyre size have you got on there and are you using spacers?
Also is that the Marlin exhaust for M20 powered Sportsters?

Wheel sizes are:
Front: 17" 7j rims with 205/40-17 tyres
Rear: 17" 7j rims with 225/45-17 Tyres
I have fitted 15mm hubcentric spacers on the back to bring the wheels off the inner wing.
Yes the exhaust is the Marlin M20 system complete with £970 bill.
My SVA is booked for 24th April at my local Test centre only 3 miles away so dont get to drive it much before I get there.
Still have a little work to complete such as the bunch of wires in the passenger footwell got my electrical man doing that. Also need to remove mirrors as they wont pass the test and I think the steering wheel may fail as well.

Thanks for the info
Yeah that wheel will probably fail as its not got squishy bits round the middle. I've kept my donor wheel for the SVA.

Very impressed and a bit jealous!
Stuart,
full marks for your build so far.
I will be studying your pictures in detail.
I noticed already that you managed to use the original brake fluid reservoir. I assumed (wrongly?) that it would be too tall.
How difficult was it to fit the body? I'm not looking forward to mine.
Any good do's and don'ts on the body fitting??
Good luck for your SVA....

Looks pretty darn good to me. What seats have you used, can't decide myself but they look ok.

The bodywork is quite simple to fit and line up the worst bits are lining up the rear bumper holes and the fuel tank connection, the bonnet can be a bit tricky as its oversized and you have to bend and trim it to fit.
As for the brakes yes it fits in no problem but had issues with brake pedal travel see this thread http://www.madabout-kitcars.com/foru...read.php?t=555
The seats are Marlin issue as per there pricelist a bit expensive and if I had the choice now i would go for Cobra Roadster seats.

Radiator lower hose
Hi Stewart,
can you tell me (or post a picture of) how you connected the lower radiator outlet to the metal pipe that runs across the front of the engine?
The only way i can figure it out on paper, is three right angle bends and two pipe connectors which is going to cost a small fortune. Did you find a hose that fits OK?
thanks and good luck with your SVA!
regards
Peter

Peter
The lower radiator hose is basically 3 ninety degree bends however i found a double bend hose i believe off the donor so only used this and a single ninety bend.

Stuart, many thanks.
I figured out that three 90 degree bends would do it but three bends, two hose joiners and six hose clips was going to cost a small fortune. I bought a long flexible hose in Halfords that cost £10.49 that fits (just!). It's a bit close to the steering column so will be on the look out for something more suitable at the next autojumble/car show.
best regards
Peter
