Default The first car you owned Vs your current car

Out of interest, and just for fun, what was the first car you owned Vs your current car?

I will start things off:

My first car, a 1979 Peugeot 104 'S', 1124cc 4 speed, saved from the top of a pile of 3 cars in a local scrap yard in 1986. Shown here a few weeks later parked outside my Mum and Dad's house after a bit of work to pass it's MOT:

My current car, a 1980 Peugeot 104 'S', 1360cc 4 speed, purchased on eBay from a guy in London for £300 in December 2013. Parked outside my workshop today awaiting a bit of work for MOT retest very soon:

Nostalgia, it's not what it used to be.....

First car was a Vauxhall Chevette purchased for £130 and sold for £100 a couple of years later when the engine threw a piston.

Current cars
Merc SLK as a daily driver
Merc ML when driving the wife as she complains the SLK is too low
Z300S as the other daily driver but not at the moment as I Am sanding it ready for paint

Default First Car

First car, working (driveable) Mk1 (1970) Escort (50 pounds), taken apart the first day I had it to fit to a Dutton Phaeton S3 kit i had just bought with the money from 4 sets of paper rounds!
Currently Kia grand carnival (8 seater 4L) Toyota Camry (the most boring car in the world) both only a few years old and with all 'mod cons' that make them a pain and no fun!!

At least you've gained a year and 236cc.....WIN...!!
My first car on the road, a 1969 MK1 escort 1300GT, rebuilt like a mexico.
Wish i still had it now....i could sell it and retire.....
My currant car...um..err...bit embarrasing really... Vectra 3 elite estate...
Bought last year, 76000k, top of the range, all the toys, as big as a van, £1000.
BUT, my excuses are, i also am running 4 bikes, (need to work on that...) and once i'v finished restoring my brothers VW T4 syncro van, i shall start on my (beloved) Golf GTI MK1, owned 11 yrs. Just like the one i had 26 yrs ago. Match you for nostalgia......!!

One of my brothers had a string of the now most sort after Mk1 Escorts, even a proper Mexico, can you imaging how bad he feels today driving his white Land Rover Evoque (snigger). Sorry if you are reading this Andrew, at least it's not French!

Mk1 Golf, NICE!

I absolutely love your 'new' Peugeot Chris! If nostalgia isn't all you'd hoped for do give me a shout if you're looking for a new home for it.

A play on words rather than any disappointment. It's a keeper, to be restored in the future when it's actually worth something, but for now to be used and maybe abused....

Current daily driver - white Ford Focus diesel with light bar on the roof and Babylon markings.

First car at age 17 - 72 Ford Consul sleeper -

Mine was mineral blue and had had an engine swap from the boggo 130bhp 2.5 V6 to an RS2600 capri motor. 210bhp, remoulds and soggy old shocks.

Clouds of smoke from the back tyres when I smoked 3 litre capris away from the lights, clouds of smoke from the front tyres when I tried to stop at the next set. Could do 9 mpg on 5 star on a run though...

Default First/Current Car

Hi All,

My first car was a 1968 Wolseley Hornet, which I restored, supercharged then sold

Forum link here:

http://elf-hornet.4forum.biz/t90-my-supercharged-hornet

My current daily driver is an A4 S Line Avant 170, which I absolutely love.

My project is a designing V8 using two motorcycle engines as donors, which I should have on the dyno over the summer. The crankcase has been machined and I have most parts but still lots of work to do.

I've got a seven style chassis to test it in, which i'm hoping Chris will be able to provide a body for (one day...)!

My first car was a Ford 100E. 1172cc sidevalve with a 3 speed gearbox and vacuum wipers that stopped when going uphill!!!!!
Soon dropped in a Cortina 1500GT engine and box with leccy wipers as well.
Now after 42 years with countless cars in between I currently run an Audi A4 Avant S Line.

first was a mini thirty/1989 . Pearlescent red, half leather interior. handled like a go cart. i miss it alot as parking was so easy. rushing round country roads inches from the floor throwing it into tight bends and the suspension staying flat not floppy.

Still love how your car looks like it shrunk whenever you park it near modern cars
