Bristol Classic Car Show & Autojumble - 21/22 April - Bath & West showground
Who's going? Planning on going?
I know that Pat has already mentioned this, but seeing as it's only a week and a half away i thought i'd canvas interest and possibly organise meet-ups?
I am definitely going, obviously which day will depend on the weather as i WILL be in the Spyder
I'm starting to get more confident with it now and a little pootle up Cheddar Valley on Sunday afternoon ended up turning into a 33 mile tour of Cheddar, Wells and Glastonbury So the 20 miles to the B&W showground is now within my comfort zone
If anyone else is going in their Sammios then do you want to meet up somewhere so that we all arrive together?
For those that have not been before, there is classic car parking outside of the main hall, so hopefully i will be parked there somewhere. I've got a few things to buy, so i'll be around for a few hours before i get bored or feel guilty at leaving my significant other alone with the kids.

Traditionally I'm most likely to go up on the Sunday morning for a few hrs, so that's the plan atm unless the weather says it'll be good on Sat and not Sun!
Although if it's going to be rubbish weather both days then I'm going on the Sunday in my sensible everyday car with my two lads to do some shopping.
atm i need:
* Flying goggles for No.1 son.
* A Smiths (orange needle, chrome bezel) volt meter
* Different (better!) bonnet straps.
and possibly, "an" interesting switch for my map light instead of the boring black plastic one I'm going to use otherwise.
Pat, are you trundling up for this one?
Also, i think that the new owner of Trevors car (No.48) is a lurker on here and is only over in Bath, so i wonder if you're planning on going?

OI! Weather forecasters
All this week the weather has said "rain, clearing to sun and then a chance of floods, plague of frogs" that sort of thing. Yet every time i look out of the office window it's a lovely sunny day with an occasional shower at about the time i drive home!
Now i realise that weather forecasting is as much luck as science, but i'm starting to turn a bit as I'd not realised how much of a complete Weather obsessive Spyder ownership turns you in the run up to these shows!

Current weather forecast for this weekend:
Outlook for Saturday to Monday
Breezy, showery conditions continuing through the weekend, but some lengthy sunny or clear periods too. Cloud and more persistent rain on Monday, with more showers following from the west later.
So is anyone else going, or considering going?

Might trundle down from Southampton on one of the days, Sunday looks like the one most of you will be there so probably me too.
Anyone want to buy my TVR?
It will be in the car park with big For Sale signs on it.

Clear blue skies today when I have arranged other stuff. What's the betting it is tipping down tomorrow when I head down to Bristol?
On the bright side, the TVR is even more 'exciting' in the wet ;-)
Hope to see some of you there

Sunny all day today, with only 3 light showers fingers crossed it's the same for tomorrow
Pat, shame you're not going to make it
Seeing as i only know what Gary looks like, if anyone else is going and wants to meet up then drop me a PM and i'll give you my mobile.
Looking at the weather, i'm likely to get there |10.30/11.00 ish and i'll likely be there for 2 or 3 hours, or unless it looks like it's turning really bad weather, in which case i'll run for home!

Sunny in Southampton. Will drink my coffee and head on down. If you see the Mighty Red Wedge there will be contact details on the For Sale sign so feel free to ring my mobile. Would love to meet up.

What a good show!
Very large with a large turn out of classics and if it wasn't for my top heater hose splitting just as i was about to pay <DOH> it would have been a really good day. Although it's lucky that there were loads of stalls there so that was fixed really quickly <phew> and was only a minor niggle.
Good to meets WCA and Len (not that Len, the other one ) and also the owner of the lovely 550, who's idea for a rain cover i'm going to steal

oh, i forgot to mention i also got completely and utterly soaked in the rain/hail storm on the way back! But then again i think that at least one trip in a rainstorm should be some sort of "initiation" for every Sammio owner!

I got soaked on the way back.
No rain from above or in front but it ran along the side window, around the back of the window and then forward inside the cabin until it was level with my eyes and then vortexed into the middle of the cabin. Quite refreshing. ;-)
