Default Sammio Gathering 2012 ?

Just an idea at present , but would you guys be interested in an informal gathering next year ?
We have an excellent Camp site about half a mile from my shop , with lots of stuff for everyone , bars , pools , restaurants , play areas etc...

I have camped there before with a Hot Rod group and its pretty laid back... I can probably get a group rate for camping , if enough interest...

Just thinking , maybe organise a couple of days , one night ..ie. Saturday and Sunday sometime Spring onwards , people could camp over or stay locally or just visit on one of the days ....no showing , no trophies , no rules , no pressure...

If anyones up for it ...I can organise a free breakfast on the Saturday morning .....anyone who's been here will know my local Cafe ...Workshop can be opened for an hour or two for the inquisitive ....

Could be a great way to meet each other , compare notes , gang up on me etc...!!

Just let me know your thoughts ?

IF I MAY JUST TAKE MY SOCIALIZING HAT OFF FOR A MINUTE AND POP THE SALES CAP BACK ON ....

The Gathering is intended to be casual , therefore , I have no problem with any interested parties , Sammio ownership or not , to turn up ...potential buyers , unfinished Sammio builders etc....Anyone with an active interest in 'our' cars won't be ignored by me !!!

It could give a '' maybe buyer '' just the nudge they need to commit by seeing a few examples being driven , enjoyed etc...also the oppurtunity to see how people tackle different aspects , styles etc...in a casual , no pressure background... visit for an hour , 48 hours , whatever.....

Any dates decided for this yet?

Currently a 'maybe buyer' but might be an owner or even a driver by then, depends when it is.

Will start talking to the Holiday Park around about Xmas probably ...need the weather to be decent but not Summer Season really , so probably April / May time ...not Stoneleigh weekend though ...

When I used the park before there was a nice little area towards the back of the site right near the shower blocks ( really good facilities , not Carry on Camping ! ) that felt like a private area ....I will see if we can claim that for the Gathering ...

I'll be up for that if I'm on the road by then: April is my new deadline, it was January but i think I'll still be repairing my chassis then.

Not sure if I'll be built by then, or whether my car will be capable of driving the 500 mile round trip, but put me down, even if I have to come in my daily driver.
Would be great to get together with so many other people who clearly have something seriously wrong going on in their heads. Might be able to get a group buy discount on straight jackets!!

Erm, Hi everyone.

Erm, my name is. Erm, Mr Towed.

And I have this friend. And I, erm, I mean he, erm.

He has an addiction to stick welding...

Hmm, April-May.... By that time I should have my current project (refurbishing the interior of my boat) finished - so who knows? I might be looking for something else to keep me occupied...

Would be fun though to drive over with my GT6 and compare it to the Spyder!
