While the body was placed in the sun to harden the paint the bonnet was painted.
Rare snaps of a painter in action.
The end result.
Looking good

Very nice.
In fact, that is close to the light blue I was going to paint my car.
Just remember that not everything in Gulf colours looks sporting.
Jokes aside, I am looking forward to seeing this completed.
Good luck, Paul.

Funny, but I think these guys are all local nutters.
One lives just around the corner form me and he still has the car parked on his drive

Got the body back from the painter today.
I'll start bolting it back on in the morning.
I am also going to revise the rear lighting over the weekend.

What a transformation and the light blue is a great colour for these cars.
Will the Gulf orange be "stuck on"?
Looking forward to seeing this back on the road, good luck, Paul.

PAUL L, the blue looks even better in the day-light and the orange stripe will be painted on but some suitable decals will also be applied.
ROADSTER, the colour is sorted but the rear lights still need "selecting" this process took weeks on the G-46 but it was worth it in the end
I still think this G-46 is stunning

Sticking with the "blue" theme, I filled the redundant speedo hole with a digital clock.
So now we have blue digital clock, blue digital tacho and blue digital speedo
Now when the ignition is switched on they all light-up and zero themselves, looks quite impressive
Still not sure of these wing mirrors

Well, the new mirrors are certainly miles better than the ones you had fitted to it originally.
I also like the pool ball gear knob.
Unfortunately, I have to keep my original Spitfire one, as it contains the overdrive switch.
Good luck, Paul.

Great colour blue really suits the car, I agree with Paul mirrors are miles better than the previous ones. However can't really comment from that angle, have you got a frontal shot?

Now awaiting the orange stripe.
I just hope the paint work doesn't highlight the "off set" scuttle hump to much.
As you can see after much effort I returned the original rear light set-up.
