Default Plan for the weeked - 31/03

Mine consists of nothing more than getting the damned bushings in.

Taking a box of bits round to a mates workshop and not leaving until the new poly bushings are all in the right holes. I am taking enough grease and vasaline with me to host a week long Village People tribute party!

Anyone else planning their progress?

Going in for a few hours to tidy up the shop ....its in such a state its actually hindering progress on projects....

might chuck a bit more filler at the Cordite and the G46 as we have started tickling that ready for prep as well.....

Bushings in for the front on one side :-)

Realised I hadn't removed the metal liners from the trailing arms :-(
Lost one of the alloy tubes for the middle of the bushing :-(

Got home and have hammers the metal liners out of one of the trailing arms :-)
Front passengers side suspension together but not tightened :-)

Hope to remove the liners from the other trailing arm without hammering my hand this time.
Hope to get the wheel back on the front so I can strip the other side and remove the bushings ready for cleaning and then the new bushings next week.

Better progress than I expected.

Throbbing in the knuckle is subsiding so getting ready to recommence the battle. Just noted down the recommended torques for the front suspension.

Front suspension passenger side back together, all torqued up and wheel on.
Front drivers side all stripped down except one bit that won't budge and broke my ball joint splitter trying to free it!
Liner removed from one end of the trailing arm.
The other end bashed about and now soaking in WD40 to try again tomorrow.
Bushings out of a couple but need the blow torch for the rest - tomorrow
Bath filling and 2 beers waiting while wife cooks fillet steak.

Definitely a good day.

EDIT: Such a simple picture but such satisfaction

well done WCA. Got there in the end!

I have been tinkering with all the little bits and peices, like getting the pedals back in, sorting out the throttle linkages, finishing the wiring and sorting out the water, fuel and heater pipes. I also modified the Vitesse Smiths heater so it is more compact and fits under the dashboard. So a good day from me too!

Replace choke cable for a classic mini item, won't shut off full but it does now and replace brake light switch and play with the bullet mirrors to see if they can be any use at all..............

I hope to slap on the last skim of filler and maybe get a coat of undercoat on.
